Here's some benchmark for 4830TG's alter ego. Same spec except for i7 cpu.
Acer 4750G CPU: i7 2630QM RAM: 2GB DDR3 ( HDD: 500GB 5400RPM (will replace with SSD soon) GPU: GT540M 1GB DDR3 Temperature Room: 29.9C (damn hot in SG, only small mounted fan about 2M away from laptop) CPU: 45C idle, 79C load GPU: 42C idle, 68C load, 73C OC load HDD: 39~40C PSU: quite warm during stressing Noise Emission Idle: Silent Load: Still silent.... lol Vantage score: ~4160 Stock speed (Core 672Mhz, Shader 1344Mhz, Memory 900Mhz) Vantage score: ~4812 OCed speed (Core 780Mhz, Shader 1560Mhz, Memory 1050Mhz) For reference, GT550M stock speed is Core 740Mhz, Shader 1480Mhz, Memory 900Mhz. Quite good for a small 14"er |

Yeah, in SG. Most acer here comes with better spec BUT worst price. Luckily i got mine cheap, around RM2100 XD
Ordered a HDD caddy, will be moving 500GB to secondary caddy, put SSD into main hdd cage. Slap in 4Gb ram, gonna be awesome machine for less than RM3000 hahaha |

QUOTE(AlexLai @ Apr 10 2011, 11:17 AM) You can try to rev it up using MSI Afterburner software. The overclocked speed actually still can push higher but I afraid my puny 90W adapter cant take it. If only it come with 120W like N53SN (but huge brick) |

QUOTE(reevephon @ Apr 14 2011, 09:42 AM) It's good for you to top up another RM250 to get the 4830TG instead, as it provides more powerful GPU and it's slimmer, but since you are not a gamer, therefore, 4750G should be enough for your usage. Uh... Afaik, both same gpu, GT540M. Only varies in cpu. Unless you referring to graphic ram, 2gb is overkill. |

With power saving on, 4830TG discharge rate around what numbers? 6.5W? Web browsing, minimum brightness, mute.
Mine around 11.0-14W, cant really make it lower than 11W. Maximum cpu speed already limit to 20% under power option profile. I guess i5 really make a different even at idle. |

In SG, 3 years extended warranty cost $199. That's nearly RM500 for same period of warranty. On site repair and international warranty requires more. So RM198 definitely worth it.

I just noticed if i put maximum load state of 15% on my cpu, the discharge rate will be around 9.7W with wifi on and lowest brightness. Battery last around 4 hours 45 mins. Quite a feat for i7 with 6 cells 48W battery (4750G). No match for 4830TG battery though
