Here's a simple tip to extend battery life when watching bluray rip (h264, ac1).
Disable the CUDA acceleration and use intel HD3000 for decoding instead. It's called DXVA. Extend my battery life by extra 1 hour as power consumption dropped from ~17W to ~13W. CPU load doesnt change, still hover below 10%. Tested with 11GB 1080P bluray rip via MPC HC, wifi ON, brightness 30%. CUDA acceleration via CoreAVC plugin (CoreCodec). On DXVA, runtime 3 hours but CoreAVC only slightly more than 2 hours. Perhaps someone with 4830TG can test both decoding method and check how long is the battery life? I expect 5-6 hours with DXVA **DXVA doesnt have good subtitle support though. Need to enable overlay mixer which will increase cpu load by another 10%.
