Had the chance to touch and feel the new TimelineX 4830TG at lowyat plaza today
Man the laptop really looks good~ Below are some of the photos I took (again, sorry for poor photo quality): » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « As shown in the brochure, I'm pleased to say that the laptop really looks splendid in reality~ » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Keyboard & Palmrest. The keyboard buttons are really good, a very big improvement from the previous styling. Typing feel is good and accurate, love the slightly tight keyboard feedback I wonder why the "\" and "Enter" buttons are fused together, it sorts of ruin the whole design. Similar to most of Acer's keyboards, the Arrow keys are abit too small for my taste, people with larger fingers may have problems during gaming LOL » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Placement of ports. Heat vent's on the left side. On idle mode its not hot at all but I din't have the chance to test how hot it can become. The VGA port and the ethernet port would be better if they're placed at the back of the laptop, or at least placed at the back portions of the sides... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Managed to test the speakers of both the TimelineX 4830TG and Asus A43Sv... at 100% volume, the sound is average only. And I'm not sure whether its me but the sound seems to be louder on the right speaker » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Front part of the laptop. Looks like a SD card reader. No idea about the others |

QUOTE(eugenechiuu @ Apr 3 2011, 09:07 AM) Slightly better And there's 2 jacks for the mic and earphones now Added on April 3, 2011, 10:02 am QUOTE(pcm123 @ Apr 3 2011, 02:47 AM) The salesgirls there are hot Added on April 3, 2011, 10:07 am QUOTE(Borsch Soup @ Apr 3 2011, 09:51 AM) Those pics really poison me liao, now need to save enuf $$$ to buy. A43SV also looks nice. So many lappys over there, WOW!!! Yea, the A43Sv looks nice But the keyboard buttons, even though chiclet-styled, are not very good (at least not as good as the TimelineX 4830TG) when typing... the keys are abit too "shallow"- they only have a rather short distance to "sink" if you know what I mean Oh ya, there's an Asus NX90 as well on the top floor This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 3 2011, 10:07 AM |

Yo guys, just wondering how does the Nvidia 's GT540M stacks up against AMD's HD6630?
As the Dell Vostro3450 (i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2617) seemed like a formidable competitor Comes with 6-cell battery, not sure whether its integrated or not |

Yea, love the design as well... looks very un-Acer-rish
The only setback would be the built-in battery and the creaky palm rest |
