![]() The Doctor is in the house. He may be Strange, but he'll show you Love. Ok, Dr Strange is not like that. He is a very powerful magician. One of the most powerful in the Marvel Comics universe. I never really read much Dr Strange stories. I only saw him appear in some Avengers stories and X-Men stories. This is a commissioned artwork for a client in the USA. A5 sized artblock paper. Pencils, pen, sharpie, Pentel watercolor, pigment ink. I always give my best in my artwork. Even if it's a small piece, I would still put in my all for it. Because I want the person who has my artwork to be very pleased and happy with it. Is he a handsome Doctor or what? I bet the girls swoon over him. And he knows magic tricks! |

![]() Why do you fail? Because you kept pushing forward, you kept making efforts. You did something. It's better than not doing anything. Tim Harford said that the more you fail, the more likely you are to succeed. He also showed in his book "Adapt" that the key to success is constant experimentation. We have to try new things with the knowledge that some will surely fail. And then we learn from there. We either make corrections/improvements or realize that it's a dead end and start something new but with better approaches and modifications based on our last failure. Tim Harford wrote the million-selling 'The Undercover Economist' and has won awards both for his Financial Times columns and BBC Radio show 'More or Less'. Tim's portrait was made by tracing his photo digitally and painting with photoshop. Reference photo was from http://www.littlebrown.co.uk/. |

![]() Artists always try to express themselves. If they can play and write music, they'll write a song. For me, I draw and paint. So, this was my way of expressing myself and also to practice. The word is "Zhan" 戰 in Chinese. It means "war" or "battle." Many of our lives are never ending battles. You just have to keep fighting. Fight the good fight. Fight for what you believe in. Elizabeth Braddock of the X-Men, she keeps fighting. Although sometimes she grew weary. Having forced to face the death of her brother, and then lose the man she loved, as well as almost sacrificing her own life to save a French man she doesn't love but loves her. Complicated. But, as a warrior in X-Force, she knows only one way. Zhan. (X-Force Psylocke pencils on artblock and edited with Photoshop. The face went through many revisions, as I just wasn't satisfied with how she looked.) |

---------------------------------------- ![]() Selina Kyle work in progress. Face touched up. Smoothed, and added more tones to bring out facial features. Started work on leather outfit.Still working on her, but time for a short break. By the way, this is not the Anne Hathaway Selina Kyle. It was based on Adam Hughe's Catwoman and also inspired by the most beautiful and graceful classic actress Audrey Hepburn. |

What a crazy talent!
Love how you do the lineart. They varies often, and not just in one same size for every single artwork. And I love how there's so much movement in some of the drawings here. Question! What kind of tablet do you use to draw digitally? |

Hi, Amipiai. Thanks. ^^
I try to vary my styles so that I can be versatile. I think of being an artist as in being like a chef. A chef can cook in many different styles for many different cuisines. So, I try to develop my own primary style, but at the same time, I also try to learn other styles. Haha.^^ I used to think I need a very large and expensive tablet with very high pressure sensitivity. Like an Intuous. But I was shown & taught that I could achieve a lot even with a Wacom Bamboo Small. Wacom Bamboo Small is what I use all the time now. |

Having versatility in style huh. That's actually pretty cool. It's hard to find our own style to be honest. I'm more of a monotonous artist. My style is pretty much anime/manga-ish and I can't run away from that. lol. It's safe to say I'm envious of your skills.
I used to think of that too! Larger tablet will be better. But now I'm really satisfied with my Bamboo Pen. It's small and portable. And I've actually never heard of Bamboo Small hahah. Is it like, Bamboo Pen? Or is it Bamboo Fun? Thanks for putting these artworks up anyway. Makes me want to go grab my tablet and draw. This post has been edited by amipiai: Nov 3 2012, 04:10 PM |

Ah yes, *refers to packaging box*, it is Wacom Bamboo Pen (Small) that I use.
Go go go, grab your tablet and exercise your creativity. It's fun. ^^ |
