If you guys don't mind the hassle and willing to take some risk, you can actually order sinks from China (taobao/tmall). I just got the following sink:

http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a220m...&id=18077112454

A 800mm SUS304 1.2mm undermount sink for ¥ 759.00 which converts to about RM420. Shipping is ~RM200.

I have not installed the sink, but from visual inspection the quality is very good, and definitely cannot get similar stuff here at the same price point.

Food for thought.

There are possibilities that you will be slapped with import tax, but AFAIK the chances are pretty low (<1%). If you are afraid, you can discuss with the agents to pay more for shipping but let them absorb any tax. Something like insurance biggrin.gif.

Cons is that you might get a lemon unit (because you don't get to inspect it), and it will be near impossible to claim for warranty. Therefore I would suggest you to go for highly reputable sellers (instead of lowest price seller). I'm personally very happy with this purchase biggrin.gif. A similar sink from Amazon USA (also made in China) would have cost me >RM2k.

As my renovation will only start after CNY, I won't be installing it anytime soon. So I'll reserve my final judgement till then smile.gif.

There are plenty of Taobao agents online. An example is 65daigou.com.my. However, I found an agent from Guangzhou, China to do the purchase and forwarding for me. The reason is because I can chat with him through Skype to communicate my requirements smile.gif. However, I won't recommend him/her because his service is average only.

If you are looking for international branded sink, then you should probably look somewhere else. For other locally 'branded' sinks, most are OEM from China even though they say they are from Germany or put a Germany flag in their logo. In these cases, I think the actual branded sinks in China (check the top companies and bestsellers) are probably better than these sinks.
