Hi all,
If I predrill opening /hole on the concrete table top to put
- water tap
- filter tap
- POU water filter white hoses (2 hoses) passing thru.
because the sink is those small edge and can't drill hole.

Is this ok and convenient for future maintenance? What is the opening holes size recommended? Thanks

You only need 2 hole if you want filter tap at counter top

Drill a 35mm diameter hole in the middle, and one 35mm at the side for filtered water

Some filtered water tap is smaller diameter from 15mm to 25mm, some design has a wider bottom sitting plate that can cater for 35mm hole

You can refer to this design

So you need to see the filtered water tap design

For example, this type of tap can use for 35mm hole

hallo shifus!! please help me here on choosing the right sink for my soon to reno house (kitchen cabinet not designed yet). Would like to go for stainless steel 304 and single bowl that got accessories to make it somewhat like double-bowl

i am thinking of getting kitchen sink from taobao and shortlisted these three:

1: Cobbe
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0d....id=659077761850
Not so keen of this brand, review is so-so but someone from the FB group bought this saying the brand is really good in China.

- anti-condensing
- price in mid range
2: Boliner
https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=695597....78517484un6D15

Review is so nice! Price also cheapest. The only thing that i don't like is that the main information page don't say anything about anti-condensing.
When asked the seller, he claims got anti-condensing and give me this picture

not sure how to look also  sweat.gif
3: Asras
https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=577197....78517484un6D15

My top of the list! Reviews are awesome. Got Anti-condensing. The only thing that I don;t like about this brand is the price... the most expensive out of the three.
It mentions price during 11.11 can save about RM200 but not sure whether should get it then or do more research
would appreciate if anyone could share their experience of getting kitchen sink from taobao? or should I go for local ones? Thanks!!

i'm just using this nano sink from taobao https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09...._u=a2pscjsd65d0 since i'm using undermount, i cant choose those sink with faucet cutout

i'm not sure why you need anti condensation here in malaysia, it's not like we have winter here or you are pouring ice to your sink always

and you dont need 5mm thickness lip, although the thicker the better, but you see those old house stainless steel sink is just 1-2mm and they have been using for so many years without issues, so i dont think there is a need to spend so much, just get a 304 stainless steel with 3mm thickness is sufficient

does any one know what's the solution for kitchen sink wall mounted drain pipe that is too high for p-trap?

other than getting basin sinks with shorter height and hacking the walls for repositioning of the internal piping?

is flexible bottle trap a solution?
*
if you dont want to reposition it, you can either use flexible hose or you can use different angled pvc pipe to connect the sink to drain pipe

1.0mm x 3.0mm in thickness means what? The thickness is 1mm or 3mm? Sorry for asking stupid question
*
means the lip of the sink is 3mm thick, the middle part of the sink (the area where you put your plates) is 1mm

So when you guys said 3mm, you guys meant both the lip and also the middle part of the sink?
*
see the image below, the red area is 3mm, the rest of the sink is 1mm

thanks for sharing!

i have looking for more options ever since... and come out with new shortlisted ones  biggrin.gif

i don't really mind about the thickness.. it just the one i like happened to have the 5mm thickness hahaha. Also, the anti condensation, i followed what is recommended from some IG videos on what to look for in sink... to prevent water droplets to form on the outside of the sink and may leads to odor

i have looked at your link but they don't have sink with slide accessories, i would like to avoid having drain basket to hang on the rim, but instead hang inside

anyhow, these are my new shortlisted

my new criteria:
- undermount
- grey sus 304
- drain pipe on the side
- accessories hang inside
- size at least 78cm wide

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0d....id=679199999906
- can add on accessory with RMB35
- no brand.. but reviews look good and cheapest

https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=684175...d=4994381393822
- initially top of my list.. but some review got rust after some time.... so not that keen anymore

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0d....id=679836117050
- mid range price
- but widest they have is 75cm

chances are high i will get the no brand one, and buy the faucet locally... since heard that taobao faucets very bad ones. Will move in new house prob around march next year... still a loong way to go. but i am sharing my shortlisted here in case anyone would like to consider as well.

once i moved in and use, will update more  icon_rolleyes.gif

the IG or XHS recommendation is from china or places with 4 season? as far as i know we dont have this problem here because our water temperature is very consistent throughout the year and i never had encounter such problem from my hometown house to my current old house is just using bare stainless steel sink, unless you always pour cold water to the sink then it might be different story, but those rubber coating is good for sound dampening of the sink though, i never had to worry about condensation, but water leakage from countertop is a more serious problem

if you want to do undermount sink, better get the middle one, the other 2 also can, but you need to make sure the hole cutout is matched nicely with the sink

add on accessories can buy separately from taobao at the same price or cheaper, the faucet from local seller is mostly from china also, so not much difference, the faucet i got with the sink suffer leakage problem after few days, then i just change the catridge to a new one from shopee, no more leaking since then, the faucet build quality itself is surprisingly good comparable to those faucet in local market, the cartridge i would say is just my bad luck tongue.gif

malaysian one.. this the IG --> jambanking_km

i think one reason because use sink to defrost.. like sekor ayam directly  from freezer and into sink like that 😅 actually i also never aware of this condensing thingy but i know laa below sink area always lembab one

thanks for the heads up! then maybe if want to get the first one, i can show my contractor first how to ensure can install one.. otherwise maybe see if can get option without the cutout?

second option very nice.. but the review laah.. am a bit worried laa with the rust review... though very small number complaints 😅

by cartridge, are you referring to the drain pipe waste?

user posted image

the faucet looks tempting though.. i checked out shopee sorella also around rm300.. if got package from taobao can save about RM100 already lol
*
this is the cartridge i'm talking about, it is inside the faucet, and most of the time this is the cause of leaking which can be fix by ourselves
user posted image

the reason i'm saying the sink with cutout is not suitable for undermount is because there might be water retention near the cutout area and could leak to the cabinet below

the recommended way for undermount should be like this, if the sink has no faucet cutout then you can just drill faucet hole at counter top without having to align with the cutout at the sink as long as the hole is not too near to the lip
user posted image

if you buy those with cutout, your contractor might do it this way since it is easier to do cutout and installation
user posted image
notice the area near the faucet is flat, so there might be water retention there and water might seep underneath the cabinet carcass from there

if you want to use this type of sink and do it like the recommended way, it is possible but you have to wait for the sink to arrive then measure the cutout and then when drilling hole for countertop also has to be precisely align with the hole at the cutout

that is if you need to do undermount sink, but if you go for top or flush mount then should be no problem since all type of sink can fit top and flush mount

if you really need to defrost a whole chicken, you should cut it to smaller chunk and use microwave defrost to save your time and water, if you really worry about condensation, it is better you do waterproof in your cabinet carcass and install ventilation hole at your cabinet door, then you will have more choices to choose from, i waterproof my cabinet carcass using polyurethane and even fungus/mold wont grow on it
