How to know if they accept credit card for TnG Reloads?

normally i try to reload with C.C they don't allow, say cash only bro~ or so for. (Mostly Reload at the busy Petronas / Shell at NKVE (the onewith KFC / MCD) )

So lets say Jalan Gasing, Since it's a ESSO (I will be getting PBB Esso Mobile Gold soon Soon), i reload RM100, need pay RM0.50 for surcharge, do I get any rebates? Since it's a Purchase in Esso? (Depending on rebates, i could get around 3%, so - out RM0.50 get RM3 ?

Do hope someone could answer this smile.gif

Yes there is RM0.50 service fee.
Regarding the rebate, let other PB-Mobil cardmember reply you.

I'm unable to advise you on this.

How about the stations which accepts TNG reload but cash only? Want to make a list? This will reduce the doubt when we see a station not in the list of 'accept CC reload', and we don't need to go in to ask.

I'm not sure if your comprehension level is low or my English is bad. Yesterday I went past Esso BU. It says TNG reload available. Since the station is not listed in the list of acceptable CC reload, I went in to ask. It accepts cash only. If the station is listed in 'CASH ONLY RELOAD', readers will know which stations to go to and which to avoid and not having to guess or ask or be in doubt. Get it?

Places to use CC to reload TnG is little.... thus no point creating cash-only TnG Petrol Station listing, which would cover 99% of all stations

Most petrol station does not accept reload with credit card because the amount they earn is not enough or barely to cover credit card merchant charges

It's confirmed that Esso, Shell Juru heading South do not accept TNG reload using CC. Really difficult to find stations that accept CC for TNG reload, Amex even harder.

I have another idea of using cc to reload TNG in mind, which is link the Zing card to M2 Amex (Theoretically it is allowed, haven't tried yet).

Each auto reload will be RM100.

Pass toll during weekdays (below RM50 balance):
- Auto reload charge RM2.00
- 5x treatpoints, which is equivalent to RM2.50
NET = +RM0.50

This translates to +RM0.25 for each RM50 reload.

Pass toll during weekend (below RM50 balance):
- Auto reload charge RM2.00
- 5x treatpoints, which is equivalent to RM2.50
- 5% cashback, RM5
NET = +RM5.50
This translates to +RM2.75 for each RM50 reload.

Less hassle as it reloads automatically but the driver needs to be very alert with the balance and take full benefits during weekend.

Spot on. I've tried asking many stations around the PJ and Shah Alam area as to credit card acceptance - all cash terms only so far.

Very admirable effort to list stations that accept credit cards for TnG reloads - I eagerly await positive reports.

However, I have a feeling that operators of the stations reported here will wisen up once they realise the admin charges imposed by Visa/MC/AMEX and thereafter lecture their staff (if they haven't already asked them to decline payment by card). So enjoy it while it lasts!

The only possible exception is TnG Service Centre located inside fuel stations (as David83 said), for which I thank the guinea pigs here in advance tongue.gif Anyway, this will probably only benefit OCBC Ti MC holders as it is unlikely that TnG SC accepts AMEX.

As you correctly pointed out, too much trouble...to reload via the Zing method indicated above (even if it works, in the first place)! icon_rolleyes.gif

It is because I come from N9.
Therefore I patronize more gas stations in N9. laugh.gif

From my observation, I notice that those Esso/Mobil stations that display a long blue-colored TnG poster do accept cc for TnG reload.

They accept Amex and minimum is RM100.

The Shell station North bound after toll, not yet try.

Esso Teluk Pulai,Klang accept CC but charge Rm103 for rm100 reload, just reload mine just now using Ocbc card due to they don't accept amex for TnG reload. Not sure that terminal's MCC entitle 5% or 1% rebate.
*
My statement already arrived, that terminal MCC entitle 5% too, but net save is only Rm1.65 due to they charge Rm103 for Rm100 reload.

In fact I myself also don't know why some people here were declined at the stations listed here.

For instance, I swear I reloaded TnG at Esso NKVE Damansara exit using Amex. However, I have not reloaded for the second time since I have not used up the TnG credit yet. I'll update later.

this is a very usefull post. i did not think of the following:

Gas station:
- Service charge RM0.50
- 5% Cashback from OCBC , RM2.50
NET = +RM2.00

PLUS counters:
- Service charge : ZERO
- 1% Cashback from OCBC, RM0.50
NET = +RM0.50

thumbs up!

Smart? Allowing T&G reload with CC meaning the station owner/operator needs to fork out for the charges from the bank.

I think you didn't really look at my previous post. If we would like to use CC to reload T & G , the station owner will ask you nicely to absorb the 3%. If you willing, then you can do it. If not then pay cash.

Hi, those smart tag sold below RM 100 are difference from the RM 120.
The so called promotional smart tag - RM 100, you cannot view the balance of your T&Go.

I have successfully linked my previous Zing card to M2 Amex without any additional charges, less hassle. If you have smart tag, much easier to control as you can see the balance.

Auto reload using M2 Amex

that is correct rclxms.gif

u go there, left counter is for CC reload.
right counter is for cash only.

This is the only place to reload using credit card without extra charges, and i pay my cc bill a month later. blush.gif

ONLY PLUS highway TnG counter got this facility which is reload using cc, WITHOUT ANY EXTRA CHARGES.

another 1 is Jalan Duta NKVE she said, which is around klang valley. hmm.gif

Mind you guys, not all counter ( plus highway ) can reload with cc.
example:seremban highway toll, Nilai toll, all by cash only. sad.gif

i dont mind any cash back thingy, as long can pay my cc bill a month later, by that time my company claim already issue me cheque tongue.gif

I have successfully linked my previous Zing card to M2 Amex without any additional charges, less hassle. If you have smart tag, much easier to control as you can see the balance.

Auto reload using M2 Amex

They'll charge for each auto reload. I think RM 2.

See my calculation, the max you can get is RM7.5-RM2 = RM5.50 rebate (M2 Amex) for RM100 reload compare to OCBC Ti where the max you can get is RM5 assuming no reload charges for RM100. Some stations even charge you 3% for using cc.
No hassle to go to specific petrol station. My suggestion is just alternative for those users who are holding M2 Amex and not staying nearby these specific petrol stations.

convenient but you pay cash. blush.gif

for heavy user like me who outstation here and there, 1 months TnG usage amount more than RM300.

so it is very essential for my cash flow, rather than pay cash to reload TnG.

i prefer pay the cc bill on the following months. tongue.gif

Update:

I was at Mobil (Jalan Tuanku Antah, Seremban) this evening.
I handed my M2 Amex and TnG card to the cashier and said "Tolong tambah nilai RM50".
The cashier did not ask a question but proceed with reloading. After the reload was done, he didn't know how to handle credit card. Then he consulted his supervisor.
The supervisor told that TnG reload is strictly cash term only. I insisted because I have managed to reload a few times here. He let me use cc for this time. Next time cannot liao.

So, this is another gas station gonna be removed from the list.

went to shell jalan duta to reload
they do rm100 per reload, so if reload rm200 they will do it 2 times. hence you get only rm199 reload (50sen x 2 charge)
but still saved rm9 happy.gif

Near to PLUS Jalan Duta toll? Heading KL (South bound) or heading Ipoh (North bound)

Do they accept AMEX?

The 50 cents is charged by T&G. So basically, not extra charges as if you reload using cash.

Dropped by Caltex just now and asked about TnG reload. Was told there'll be 3% surcharge for each reload using cc. They do accept Amex.

Since it was still Friday just now, 5% cashback minus 3% surcharge left 2%, not shiok, end up didn't reload. If reload RM100, it'll take years to finish the credit.

I pump petrol swipe RM250.
Only RM50 for petrol.
RM200 for touchngo.
End up with only RM199.50 to my touchngo card (RM0.50 surcharge)
Unless shell do not accept Amex for petrol since the machine I use is the same for both petrol and touchngo.
Please be reminded that only RM1500 can be stored in the touchngo card.
So recommend to top up maximum RM1000 since the rebate is up to RM50 only per month.

Thanks for the heads up erry. Just came back myself after loading several cards with my AMEX smile.gif

Is there any way to get to the Shell without going past the Jalan Duta toll? Like a make a u-turn at the Duta toll itself before going past...

Had to factor in the toll cost before I decided it was worth making the journey smile.gif

Extra cost - RM1.80 from Kota Damansara toll or RM2.30 from Damansara toll + Petrol..

So need to load several cards to make the journey worth it

That's 100% true. But the service is only for CIMB account holders with ATM card.

A friendly reminder: Get prepared for unexpected breakdown because the machine might suddenly go out of order at the time of touching the TnG card at the panel. During non working hours, no one can help you.

Now.. since a lot of questions on Touch and go reload, where could i buy Smart-Tags with credit cards? smile.gif smile.gif

Meh friend wanna buy 1, but i lazy use cash... maybe some of those acccepts cards for Smart-Tag purchases

Asked all petrol stations @ elite highway + nkve (shell + petronas @ damansara, petronas got smart tag but Cash only), Esso @ restaurant jejantas doesn't even have smart tags, caltex elite Out of stock for almost 3 months as what they have said, but they say got 2.5% charge for purchase of any TnG related products like reload + smart tags that defeats the purpose of using AMEX on weekdays.

any ideas on where there would be the tags to be purchased with C.C?

tq

i know what u mean..but almost all petrol station only accept cash for TnG and smart tag as well..

so the best u can try is go to the petrol station that able to accept cc to reload TnG..

higher chances for them to sell smart tag with cc..but of coz need to make sure the petrol station got sell smart tag tongue.gif

I'm not sure on this but I walked past a e-Pay sign recently and saw the Touch n Go logo there.

From their website, they do TnG as well.

http://www.e-pay.com.my/service-prepaid.html

And since Tesco uses e-pay, could it be possible to reload TnG in Tesco using cc? brows.gif

Yes, but you could still buy mobile prepaid reloads using CC in Tesco, and the slip seem to come from the e-pay terminal.

tried
Shell (Jalan Duta Toll, KL),

from Duta to Shah Alam.
the malay girls did not allow me to reload. had to talk to the indian, who is more senior. he allowed, subject to me buying something from the shop.

how he did was, he billed my tng money into another pax, who paid their petrol in cash... then refund the "petrol money" to me in cash...

i reloaded rm200, drink rm3, petrol rm30 belonging to someone else,
total profit 5% using ocbc: rm11.50-rm3:rm8.4 (for 200 reload) rm4.2 (for 100 reload), which is a good 4% cash back. plus a "free" drink
so i have no complaint smile.gif

It is Shah Alam.
In PJ, seksyen is abbreviated as "SS", isn't it?
I am not sure whether service charge changes according to reload amount. I think the best of all is it accepts Amex. rclxm9.gif

It is located at the intersection of Jalan Batu Tiga Lama and Persiaran Tengku Ampuan.
It can be defined in coordination as "3.040125,101.547568". Paste this number in the search column in Google Maps and you shall get a clear location.

No more treasure hunting for petrol stations that accept Amex for TnG reload !
Now you have greater choice, SenHeng ! Service charge RM0.50 for each reload.
So this weekend when you are in shopping mall, just go and try reload your TnG ! Don't forget to use your M2 Amex.

Tried to reload TnG at the ESSO station on Sprit Highway after the NKVE Damansara toll but must use cash. I remember somebody mentioned can use the MBB2Amex here.
Never mind. hopefully Seng Heng accepts as it will be more convenient.

I went to SenQ Queensbay and didn't saw any banner or T&G logo.

I saw a e-pay machine.

Not sure if they provide T&G reload service as I didn't inquire any of them.

Looks like reload at seng heng just like petrol station initially can later found out less profit becomes cash term only!

The 4% (as specified by you) merchant fee is to be imposed on the merchant no matter which Amex is swiped at the terminal.
So I think it does not make sense that the merchant decides to discontinue the reload facility using credit card particularly Amex.
If SenHeng wants to save that 4%, then why do they provide the service in the first place?

Reloading TnG at SenQ/Sen Heng with 50 sen charge only is great news! Reload RM100 sudah boleh pulang modal for even normal points (0.5% equivalent) collecting card, not to mention reloading with MBBKard2 AMEX with 2.5% equivalent points!

Thanks chemistry for posting it at the first page, may have missed it otherwise. Now gonna reload big time...in case the reload service is discontinued! Got about RM88 20% toll rebate just for June 2011 TnG usage smile.gif

I went to Senheng at Platinum Walk, Taman Danau Kota. Although they are in the list, the sales person told me it's a no go for TnG reload with credit card. Gonna try again next week with my regular sales person cos he was on leave today.

It's quite easy to go from here. There are only 55 Senheng and SenQ branches that allows TnG reload. So we just do a list of which branch can and which cannot. Judging from the feedback here, not all allows reload with credit card. Too bad.

I really hope that they'll continue to accept AMEX for payment as you know that AMEX charges more than Visa/Mastercard in term merchant fee.

But they do have MBB terminal at their place to exercise. Payment was done using MBB terminal.

Went to Seng Q at BP Mall (Batu Pahat) to reload T&G by Amex yesterday. I was told machine not ready yet , have to wait at least a week for technician to come. Why don't they get ready all the machines before they publish the sites?

I believe the cashier in-charged is lazy or don't know how to setup. There's a manual for it and I saw it yesterday.

I believe here's the primary reason for not getting the terminal ready all the time:

They may not have enough phone lines to cater for so many terminals. You should be aware that there're many CC terminals (we have > 10 banks) at the cashier desk.

Last week I went there to reload. That time the Touch&Go terminal failed to login.
If everything's alright, they do accept Amex for TnG reload.

50 cents per transaction charged I believe but what is the max per transaction?

I remembered that if you want to reload RM 300. You need to split it into two transactions right?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, i indeed wanted to reload RM300 but the staff told me fixed reload amount is RM150, RM200 and subsequently RM500. So i have to go with RM200. 50 sen charged per transaction is correct.

*There should be some amount lesser than RM150 which i dunno. Probably RM50 and RM100.

I do have to wait for like 5 minutes for the TnG machine to connect. It was well worth it. I got RM15 bucks back!

Min amount doesn't matter. It's the maximum that matters since they have to split it into multiple transactions.

As I shared earlier, the bad thing is that the T&G terminal is not always connected and has to be set up by the cashier.

I believed that there's no consistency. It's up to the cashier on duty.

But at least, SenQ or Seng Heng is more consistent I guess.

Reloaded RM100 at SenHeng Giant Bandar Kinrara. Took like 5-10 mins to setup the TnG terminal.

Btw, you cannot reload simply any amount. There is fixed reload amount of RM10, 20, 50, 100, 200.

RM0.50 charges will be deducted from the reload amount for each transaction.

Actually if you pump petrol and reload TnG together they usually accept credit card..

If not mistaken i done it once at the Petronas from KL - Melaka..
The the next time i went just to reload TnG without pump petrol they say cash only

Are you trying to make a statement, or are you asking a question?
I went to BHP Kayu Ara before, they didn't want to take my credit card, strictly CASH ONLY.
If you manage to use credit card, please feedback here. Thanks.

On another note, if you swipe OCBC Titanium at TnG counter inside the BHP, it is entitled to 1% cashback only, because the $$ goes to TnG directly, not BHP.

You tried at which area? The small kiosk outside do not accept AMEX, need to go until the shop inside there (yes, the long distance), they accept AMEX inside.

I haven't try for TnG though, maybe will try it this weekend when I go pump petrol as well since I pump BHP.

Hopefully they using the same terminal though

Petrol refill can use Amex, but TnG cannot.
Just like most Esso/mobil/shell, petrol can swipe, TnG cannot. That's why we go for SenQ now.

Went to BHP Kayu Ara 1 month ago when I saw the banner.

TnG setup a external booth inside the petrol kiosk.

During the day, the booth sells Smart Tag, TnG cards and reload TnG card. Cash only.

After working hours, the staff will pass the TnG reload terminal to BHP counter staff, so they can reload for customer during night time.

The TnG Spot staff is unsure if they will apply for CC terminal in the future.

hopefully other branches reported here will continue to accept amex

amex must reduce merchant fees in order to fight with visa/master

If you observe carefully, you will find that HLK purposely open beside/nearby SenQ.

Touch N Go will be one happy camper if they did a statistics report on Touch N Go reloads from SenQ as more n more people are reloading > RM100. Usually I think most ppl will just reload RM50 or max RM100 for people who work in KL or Selangor.

Went to SenQ USJ this afternoon but was told that machine was down.

Went to SenQ Subang Perdana last Saturday, 13/8, was told manager was out for yamcha, cannot operate machine. doh.gif

Guess some of these outlets are merely a farce.

well, i think if u stay in places other than s'gor/kl where there is less toll, RM10 reload is more than enuf..

If travel between Penang island and Penang mainland in daily basis, RM 10 also not enough. One trip is RM 7/ RM 5.60 (for T&G issued by Penang bridge only).

if going in to penang island only sufficient for one trip
it is really insufficient, futhermore i tend to go over on every weekend
not to mention those who always travel into the island everyday for work

Sen Q IOI Mall Puchong - the cashier always claimed that the TnG terminal is down.

Also I was told I can only reload RM 10, 20 and 50. How come I can reload RM100 / 200 in Sen Q Giant Bandar Kinrara??? rclxub.gif

yes..they told me the something..i even call their HQ and HQ replied said should be no problem to reload..
i reloaded at SengHeng Bandar Puteri Puchong..last weekend..no problem at all, just they take some time to setup the terminal..maybe i was the first customer of that day..cause they just opened...smile.gif
