Hello Forum wink.gif

My 3rd thread here biggrin.gif

I was wondering, that if I buy a ipad 2 Wifi only version, Will i be able to connect it to the internet if I buy a USB Dongle from YES, Celcom or any other carrier.. ?

The new ipad 2 has a usb 2.0, So connecting the dongle is not a problem. But will Apple iOS detect and support such USB Dongles ? Even if it detects and supports, Will i still be able to connect to the internet ? Since Ipad Wifi verison only has no cellular signal receiver, I was wondering if this is possible biggrin.gif

Looking forward to some creative and justified responses smile.gif

Thanks ;d

Well, Depends on how that Maxis wifi modem works.. That modem receives internet, and transmits wifi signals so ipad can catch it and access the internet..but the question is, how does the wifi modem receive internet.. ? Does it have a sim card inside ?

@khaledrm

YES USB Dongle doesn't support Apple iPad because Yes doesn't provide any driver support to iOS devices. The only solution to get iPad and Yes broadband is either using Yes Huddle or Yes Zoom which transmit Wifi Signal to iPad.

Hope this helps...

@khaledrm

Yes Huddle is around 4-5 hours...

Best if you get a mobile charger, so can charge together both ipad and the Yes Huddle.

To use iPad with Yes, you need the Huddle or Zoom, so I assume it's the same with iPad 2.

Normally you can share the around 5 devices using the mifi router, if you intend to connect with your laptops or desktop as well so it's recommended to get mifi router. Also if you're tethering through your phone, will consume your phone battery power.

I can't answer you coz I also planning to get one soon. Technically it should be same on 3G but I heard the 4G (huddle from Yes) are faster.
