TS please add me into the list - filco fkb104m/eb and a razer blackwidow regular. wasted my money getting the razer - same price as my filco only zzzzzzz
How could you get Filco at the same price of Razer BW? Mind to share where do you purchase it?
Added on March 23, 2011, 7:37 pmBTW, i realise that the oddity(uneven switch) of razer BW MAY BE coming from deep pressing(with force) of switch. My arrow down keys originally click normally but after ytd i pressed it forcefully, it become a little like those other faulty-clickly keys...
Between all Cherry MX Switches, Cherry MX Blue has the highest RMA rate.
No offense to Razer, but from what i learn from few keyboard manufacturer staff, Razer purchase refurbish cherry MX Blue from other manufacturer which is not directly from Cherry.
So far pretty digging the Red. I kinda miss the tactile feel of my BWU and the click. But I like the layout of the Filco better. Filco Blue in the making? Hmm.
From the day i changed from BW to brown switch Filco, I can feel the different for the 5g force between blue and brown switch, probably the blue need to pass through the clicky sound make me feel different and I can't really feel the tactile in brown switch at all. It make me feel uncomfortable while typing. But after sometime, its feel greater than BW without that much of tactile and non-clicky. The only thing i dont like is the spacebar with brown switch. Kinda wierd.... like it is empty inside. LOL
hi guys, looking to buy my first mechanical keyboard (full). going to use it mostly for typing, so most probably will go for either red or brown switch.
will watch this with interest, filco and leopold coming soon to malaysia oh yes!
just out of curiosity, how's the build quality of these two brands? and generally which is more expensive?
thanks.
Welcome to LYN. Filco will be more expensive than Leopold. If you want more on typing, i suggest you get blue switch. It is awesome!
i have a feeling that most people that got used to blue switch will not really like red and black switch.
since they are used to "Switch" Feeling, like when you press a Switch, there's switch sound, Klick, and slightly bump to make you feel like you're pressing a switch.
Black has no bump and no sound, that may make user feel awkward when they change from blue switch to black switch. not to mention Red. they are super duper light switch. you feel like you're pressing something really soft without the needed force to press a black.
Well, that's my imagination.
Actually it is the fact. Even I change blue switch to brown, i cant feel the tactile on brown at all without the "klick" sound. But it is lighter than blue and brown feel like linear to me.
ok maybe one last question... does any entry level mech keyboard got back light? i know this is not that important... but blue back light for a keyboard would be cool regards
Wait for the upcoming BWU dragon age 2 edition with red backlightning
