QUOTE(madmoz @ Apr 19 2011, 03:48 PM) I categorically DO NOT like Wenger, but could he take on the LFC job and excel? I want Dalglish to continue as our manager beyond this season, but there is this sinking feeling at the back of my mind that the owners do not want him to the owners need to take serious consideration here, if Dalglish get a permanent deal and something went wrong, they can't take any action against him cos the fans are all stand behind him. It's never easy to control someone with so much support. But if they really want the best for the club, then there's no better man for the job than our King Kenny, at least for the moment.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Apr 21 2011, 01:43 PM) Pity him really... Worked so hard for the team in early season and get frozen by both bosses. yeah.. pity him. he's a support striker who can play as a left wing. under hodgson's defensive tactic, he played as a left midfielder where he need to spent more time doing the defensive works in our own area, something that he and any other striker not really good at. I wonder what's actually happen to every winger that came... pennant, speedy gonzalez, babel, maxi, riera, jova.. same fate. maybe because of our setup, lack of wide play and attack mostly thru the middle.

QUOTE(jason18689 @ Apr 22 2011, 09:02 PM) yea agree with the above post, looks like old jerseys design... Anyhow, i just thougth of C.Adam... He can put lots of quality long balls for Carroll btw =) that's what i feared the most, back to boring route one football... had enaf of it during houllier's era with heskey as the targetmen. The problem with long ball is that the refs usually have the tendency to give a foul in favor of the defenders when it come to aerial challenge. I hope Kenny can play with more pass n move football like we used to play during his time as a player.

Comolli shows interest in Saint-Etienne's Blaise Matuidi.
"In France, all the figures prove that the player who wins the most possession at the feet of his opponents is Blaise Matuidi," Comolli told the News of the World. "That is an extraordinary strong point. When the team plays high, it means a goal chance."
highly rated defensive midfielder, known as a tough-tackler. But need to fight against several other teams like Arsenal and Juve...

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Apr 25 2011, 08:29 AM) Incidentally, why do you not think Arsenal will win the title ever again under Wenger, provided he stays on? Because of his reluctance to sign stars, relying instead on youngsters? If this is the case, then one must always remember how Alan Hansen himself put his foot in his mouth by claiming that you can't win the title with kids. Well a certain Alex Ferguson did
It all started when they build the new stadium.. lack of transfer budget force Wenger to invest on youngsters. Even so they still manage to be competitive in every season, I must say Wenger did a very good job despite not winning anything yet. Now that they have stabilized their financial and their youngsters have all grown to be internationals, I think they'll be stronger in seasons to come.

QUOTE(kazuki85 @ Apr 26 2011, 10:58 AM) Actually, it's nothing we can do about it for now. The two blood sucking cowboys at that time wanted him out, and he was getting too much pressure from the owners, fans and players. I do understand his frustrations of not signing the players he wanted, but any good manager will not go anywhere without the backing of the club owners. Similar to Jose's exit from Chelski. The worse thing is the owners already talking to Klinsmann and other alternatives when Rafa is still around. What a shame from those two cowboys, undermining our own club. But the ship has sailed and I hope he gets a good club with owners that willing listen to him instead of doing things their own way. Btw, Kenny is doing so well now, thats why not many people mentioning about Rafa now. But I think he will be very happy now to see Liverpool have good new owners who willing to invest. It wasn't just about the owner's decision. Rafa case is much more complicated. I started calling for Rafa's head (seems long time ago) since I can see a little conspiracy amongst players. His treatment on Alonso, when Gerrard start to turn his back on him, when Riera start voicing his disagreement, even Carra was against him, the rest of the team seems disgruntled and demotivated. then no matter how good you are, if your players decide not to give their best, then u're useless. That's when I start joining anti-Rafa fan. nothing personal against him, only for the best interest of the club. My dream came true, but it came with high price, to be haunted by a nightmare of having to live under Hodgson for almost 6 months... This post has been edited by sahathai: Apr 26 2011, 11:18 AM

QUOTE(madmoz @ Apr 27 2011, 06:12 PM) Scholes is able to accept a bit-part role. Probably the main reason why I think that Gerrard should be sold if there are any offers is that given his personality he will not be willing to accept a bit part role. Heck, he doesn't even drifts everywhere when started at right wing. Again I stress - I have no problems with his abilities as a player at the moment, but I feel that given another season or so, his presence will be detrimental to the squad. We have lived on sentiments for long enough, and at times it pays to be ruthless. don't underestimate him, man. He's a scouse. Maybe he dreams to retire as a Liverpool player since he can remember. What makes him to turn around when he's already on his way to Chelsea... if silverware is his only desire? If Liverpool meant nothing to him but just another club. He still want to play even when he shouldn't, when his body can't take it, he always want the ball and try to do works by himself, is it because he hunts for personal glory or is it because he believes in his ability and willing to do the best to help the club? Just my point, thou...

QUOTE(vreis @ Apr 28 2011, 02:12 PM) Hence he should be backup. Else how to expose him to high level matches when we're buying a 1st team LB & with Warnock as backup. I did not see Robinson as future international, its not even in the equation on this debate. Point is to get Warnock in will limit the exposure of them. To see Robinson have the consistency, the club must have a platform for him to express the consistency, by bringing in Warnock as backup it severely hindering their progress. Furthermore we all know how little backup fare in matches, by putting in Warnock in front of them, they'll see no action for years. I get your point. We need to buy a first team Left-back but not another backup player. If we buy another Leftback, and with Insua coming back (maybe), Aurelio (when he's fit), Glen (most probably playing as a Leftback if Kelly is playing) are all available, Robinson is already 4th choice player so we don't need another player to sit above him in the pecking order.. Unless Warnock is bought as a regular starter, I don't see a point of buying him. It's not what we need and I don't think Comolli will go for another near-30 player.

I think players like Flanagan and Robinson will get a few loan offers from lower division teams next season... I think at those age, it would be better for their improvement as a player and as a man to have more playing time in much competitive games and gain more experiences... rather just being a back up and play for a reserve team. We could then monitor their development and see if there really are a promising germs.

QUOTE(kazuki85 @ Apr 28 2011, 10:57 PM) It's more like Roy Hodgson's signings is dominating the list  the signing of Hodgson itself is for me the worst signing.. I did watch last night el clasico.. i'm totally impress with Busquets... watched him a few games before with Barca or Spain and I must say he is the best. Nani should learn more from him. There might still people argue that this play acting thing doesn't represent the club as a whole... it might be a case of just a few bad apples. I've seen Messi been kicked out almost every game, yes he would ask for a foul but never saw him crying, or rolling with his hands covering his face thou unless he seriously injured.. but when every time their player go down, the rest of the team will surround the ref asking for red card then one must think that it is part of their plan. This is also makes me wonder which is worst, diving to get a penalty or rolling to get player sent off?

QUOTE(fzul07 @ May 2 2011, 11:34 AM) if we want quality passing skill.. i think marek hamsik from Napoli did quite good job.. can play defensive & attacking also.. he's good and so far manage to help Napoli to be third in Serie A rite now, so if they do finish 3rd in the league, they gonna be in the Champions League next season. So I don't think he's going to leave that behind. QUOTE(pyroboy1911 @ May 2 2011, 01:04 PM) Wanna ask u guys this, a question that an arsenal supporting friend posted on FB for Liverpool fans: which would u prefer, Man Utd winning the 19th title, or Torres winning the league immediately after leaving Liverpool? I tried to put myself in a liverpool fans shoes and wow...it is a dilemma and I think there would be different opinions. Any thoughts? What do I care...

QUOTE(skeleton202 @ May 2 2011, 09:40 PM) odemwinge was really great for wba.. i'll more like having rather than overprice young Odemwinge he's a striker and already 29 next season... Young is a winger as as his name he still considered young. England don't have many good talent anymore, price will normally higher for such rare product. That's why I think Jonas would be more interesting addition eventhou he's already 27.
