The owners probably mad not to give the permanent job to kenny. Look how the team play and they know hes the right choice. Even they crazy enough not to.. no matter how i respect him... rafa is not the right man.. at least not now. The rumours about villa boas coming to anfield is a right step if kenny not taking the job

QUOTE(koolspyda @ Apr 16 2011, 11:44 AM) agree, if whatever reason KD isnt appointed as permanent (if fenway goes stupid), i would welcome back rafa. & as what DK said but this time, rafa needs to lighten up. all the 'seriousness' making them too robotic. (which is why i guess crouch mimic the robot dance ??). rafa was all 'professionalism', maybe in some aspects liverpoolfc needed to haul itself into some areas to todays (football) commercialism. but in the department he (rafa) should immersed himself closer to the squad. but for now hPY bday to rafa. thanks for the memories, we were certainly made better with you around, and now the baton is with KD, lets move ahead back to the summit After inter sacked him and he took a well deserved rest he seems a bit more relax now. Based on his interviews he was enjoying his times off. Thats what he need. Chill out and maybe hebecome a better manager Good luck to him

mereiles not around when rafa's in charge so cant say anything how he may performed. but agger always plays a good game and permitted to burst forward when he's played. lucas.. ahhhh lucas... everybody seems to be puzzled and angry why oh why rafa kept playing him.. saying he sucks and not liverpool material.. our own fans even booed him at one time. a better man that he is, he put his head down and kept playing. now lucas has coming to age where he start showing his quality that rafa's know its there. kenny might have something to do with him.. but big credit goes to rafa because his stubbornness means we still have one quality DM. however pro-rafa i am.. i can never denied having king kenny is better because he is well like by the players and fans. this way he can have time to build without people calling for his head (even it's a blasphemous thing to do ). here i'm hoping rafa will change and mellow down a bit after he gets older. like duke said, he cannot expect the owners would give him complete control. owners invested tons of cash so naturally they want some control too.. i know i would.

whats with this fatty on astro supersport blabbering about? he butthurt? away game at Emirates, missing a few key players.. off course defensive play is the ideal tactics.. ffs..
the team deserved the point.. spearing was unlucky. but he and lucas was doing pretty good job on the second half. the two young fullback was pretty decent too.
hopefully carra is ok.. same goes to carrol..

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Apr 18 2011, 01:27 AM) The way I see it, we could have conceded 3-4 goals in first half alone. Yes, second half we are the better team, no doubt but still, in my opinion, we are pretty lucky to get the penalty. Pretty soft call, no? Can't deny I m happy but credit should be given when it is due. yeah.. suarez not wearing his scoring boots today either otherwise he scored what.. 2? we control the majority of the second half so i still feel the points is well deserved. i'm not saying luck doesnt play any part but the spirit showed by the lads force the 'power that be' to come down and award them the luck.

suarez is better than torres because he's not selfish. he was pain in the ass for defenders because he can both scores and create chances for other team mate.
he was unlucky not to score (kuyt goal) but he's a good finisher. his records in eredivisie proofs it. eventhough eredivisie is no bpl.. i believe he'll come around. just be patient

QUOTE(faizdtk @ Apr 25 2011, 12:02 AM) last season we win 18, lost 11,draw 9 matches and end up at 7th. this season we already lost 12 matches and still in 6th with a chance to finish 5th. overall, thats how poor this season is.. all the top teams not really consistent.

I for one believe Reina is the most suitable candidate for captaincy. Not that he is more vocals but he seems to be more calm, wiser and intelligent than the others. He also have shown that he can motivate his team mates in the past. Additions to that, he almost played in all the games..
2nd is Agger. He always the first one to appear besides the ref whenever a foul or a card given to our players. Too bad he cant stay fit for whole season. Otherwise he could be the first choice captain too.

imho, gerrard still the best midfield in our club. no doubt..
he already a true legend for the club but he must admit his best already past him. he should put aside his ego and accept a lesser role ala scholes and giggs. rotated on some occasion and not an automatic choice anymore.
still, a midfield line up of mereiles - gerrard - lucas sound more formidable than mereiles - spearing - lucas.. the opponent will be more terrified of the former. so the we have a bit of psychological advantage. just my 2 cents.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Apr 28 2011, 12:45 PM) I posted a couple of weeks ago that Stephen Warnock could be a viable option for cover at left back. He isn't world class but he is in my opinion, a good back up. Seems I may not be the only one who feels this way. $2 million for a 29 year old former England international isn't bad. http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-leag...eturn-to-anfieli think we better off with insua or konchesky he was not as good even back then so no point bringing him back. if as backup wise, i think young robbo could fill in the shoes. he already shown that he's capable doing so. He only going to get older and better next year.

last night feels like a friendly game.. a bit of relaxed feeling. though still a good game. everyone was great. suarez highly deserved a goal or two. suarez + kuyt combo is really good. QUOTE(pyroboy1911 @ May 2 2011, 01:04 PM) Wanna ask u guys this, a question that an arsenal supporting friend posted on FB for Liverpool fans: which would u prefer, Man Utd winning the 19th title, or Torres winning the league immediately after leaving Liverpool? I tried to put myself in a liverpool fans shoes and wow...it is a dilemma and I think there would be different opinions. Any thoughts? honestly, although its not gonna happen, if chelsea can overtake the mancs i'll be delightful. if torres win a medal good for him. deep inside he knows he doesnt contribute much for the medal. well, unless he scored the winning goals for the remaining games. it would be different. Sami Hyypia, the best liverpool defender of my generation. A true legend..
Hope kenny will give him a coaching role in the near future. (Yes I believe Kenny will be here for the long run)

QUOTE(Duke Red @ May 3 2011, 11:11 AM) I have little doubt that Hyypia will return one day in a coaching capacity. His ability to read the game made up for his lack of pace. I was in Australia when we signed a little known Finn call Hyypia but he's ensured that we now never forget it. He left at the right time if you ask me, before his legs gave in totally. Our lack of pace at the back was sorely exposed when we paired him with Mauricio Pellegrino. He and Henchoz leaked very few goals compared to everyone else but we also need to attribute this to Houllier's ultra-defensive approach to games where we had every man behind the ball bar Michael Owen. Still, whenever Hyypia was in the side, you knew our airspace was safe. and Hamann so effectively breaking the attacks before it reach both of them.. cheers for that poster.. would be nice if got a high res so i can print it myself.

saying soto cannot defend is somewhat cruel.. like earlier mentions.. he show some MotM perfomance in couple of games.. not an ideal 1st choice but a decent backup.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ May 5 2011, 02:17 PM) I still don't see why we bought him in the first place if he can't play against the more physical teams in the Premiership, or so I was led to believe. was discussed in RAWK and many believe rafa bought him not as a box to box midfielder but as a playmaker orchestrating attack from the back with gerrard and torres in front. the role that he played in juve now. i was not in the same camp that believe he cant stand the physical side of BPL because he almost the same build/size with benayoun and benni almost have no trouble coping. imho, he just need time to adjust..

News from The Star that claim why FSG havent offer Kenny contract because his row with Comolli was originally bullshit from the shite call The S*n.. So you guys can safely ignore it.
Though in my opinion having Comolli is not a big deal as long as he listen to Kenny or the new manager request.
