better change processor la..oc using stock cooler to that clock is a no go.
rather then spending more money on cpu coler better buy new proc edi.
and maybe a new psu with it.

Stock cooler will do but got risk.

Anyway I agree with kira_88. Your motherboard deserve a better processor.

change PSU 1st. btw, i dont think stock cooler can handle the heat, unless you OC with stock voltage vcore. stock vcore cant reach 3.0G i think...

ya.. i planning to upgrade gpu to hd5770 (or better), but i've read that my proc will bottleneck hd5770, and they suggest OC da processor.. and considering the new gpu + OC, it is time to change psu i think.

let say i have those psu and gpu.. between (buy new HSF + OC) or (buy new proc), which is worth?

if new hsf, can list da model+price range?
if new proc, can list da model+price range?

what kind of budget do you have first? no budget very hard to suggest you anything.

Btw, i go for cheap with reasonable performance.

HSF = CM Hyper 212+ -> RM80 to RM110
Proc= Q6600 (2nd hand) -> RM 300 and below.

Q6600 easily can be pushed to 3ghz using stock vcore. If you wan cool operations, 3.2ghz is very doable with hyper 212+.

If you got more money, buy that Q9550 but freakin expensive though. Double the price of Q6600 i guess.

thx 4 replying.. my budget is flexible.. but i didn't think Q9550 is an option for me. if its price is RM600++ <-- (Q9550 new or 2nd hand?), better i 'peram' and invest for core i series later.

and psu? did CMaster GX 550 can support hd5770+oc? or shuld i go for more watt (650, 750)?

thre is no more new Q9550, so its second hand.

Get a 500Watt true power will do. Avoid CM GX at all cost.

true power is the real power that psu can supply. most of cheaper (RM50-80) psu with 400-500watt label is not a true power psu. even it say can supply 500w, it only can supply about 250 or even lower.

you can refer here to see how to calculate the power output from psu
