I do not think VLC is light, but i prefer it as it is few of the players that can play .mkv files properly.

My netbook lags when playing movies using the VLC player.

TS,

your netbook got lag or not when playing movies with VLC?

No wonder. Your processor is faster than mine. My netbook processor is about 1.33Ghz only. I heard that when i turn it become a touchscreen tablet, the processor speed will be further underclock to prevent it from being heated up faster. doh.gif

avast give you File system shield (local protection), Web shield, Script shield, P2P shield and more for free. Normally these are paid for features only. Most free antivirus only provide you a local real-time protection.

avast v6 is the lightest as it can run on some pretty old computer. If you set it correctly, you won't feel a thing. Scan also very fast. MSE scan is slow. Avira got updates problem often. Beside, if you look carefully, avira updates are few days old updates. They never give you today's upddates. Avast updates are fresh.
