Used to be a hardcore BF player since 1942 and now only I started playing this game since I stopped playing PC games a couple of years ago tongue.gif Just got a brand new rig and am now up for some BF action yet again!
Any tips to level up for a beginner like me? Just passed Level 4. Couple of unlocks only. Need to catch up with these unlocking features.

I have to agree with that. Caviar Green is basically slower but a very good power saver. Best bang for buck in terms of price/performance ratio now is Samsung Spinpoint F3 hands down. Much faster than the Caviar Green. I'm planning to add a F3 as my main hdd soon.

I made it myself, and the HDDs were actually from an old PC anyway! Planning to replace or maybe have em as a storage for downloads. Maybe an OEM SSD? Hehe.

I never knew HDD plays a lot in terms of performance. I thought they only increase load times?

Nah, although the faster HDD actually improve initial load time of your games but it's really not a big deal to make a fuss over it. Just that i'm assuming u should be better off with a faster HDD since 90% of those goodies in your new RIG are high end, that's all tongue.gif

But there is one exception to this issue, some games with texture streaming that uses crap engines which can actually cause stutter when streaming in new files.Likewise, some allow paging out which will cause a sudden stutter when those resources are needed again.

In short, the only time a faster HDD actually matters in game is with game engines which have bad streaming or do not preload enough (which leads to secs of lag while loading resources when you change your camera view to an object or texture you didn't see before) .

In this case, seek speed would lessen the impact of the stutter.

you will never need ssd unless you extra extra rich or needed faster memory speed
at least try to make samsung f3 1tb as main hdd
you can relax for now unless you involve in graphic design work

wait
wondering how the heck you play from 52 inch monitor?
hurt my neck seeing big screen close to read it
magnifying glass? brows.gif

no effective solution, the only thing we can do is restart router/modem and change IP

bad company 2 still got a lot of bugs they dont bother to fix, like the broken friend list and in-game voice chat doh.gif
