err no someone said he had to change the electric power steering and cost him his left nut.

yes th rubbers and plastics aren't fomulated for our constant heat and humidity which leads to it fading or cracking.

secondly the car most probably has heating system since overseas has winter, which if not used often can leak because it uses engine coolant to produce heat.

third, the a/c system is less powerful since their summers are no where near as hot as or humid as our weather which is constant, so again chances of leaks or not cold enough

I'm operating a workshop myself, thus cheaper in maintenance.
Some of the parts, I import from Singapore myself....

For normal end-user, it will cost a bomb...

Spare parts is definitely the problem, apart from the already expensive price for a recond car. The one that we see on the road here is X120 or 1st gen Mark X. Haven't seen the 2nd gen around. But I'd rather get a 1998 X100 Chaser instead. tongue.gif

This will be subjective to everyone.

At 150k, some choose harrier acu30 recond. Some aiming brand new Sorento.

I feel camry seriously underpower for the 2.0l model. 2.4v is nothing either.
At used market, a year 2004 MarkX is around 120k. A year 2006 camry worth how much?

I do think now, a used markX is good buy. Definitely not sub150k unregistered units

true indeed i did know that as i just give my opinion here. As usually it is common to have some choice to choose between a brand new car or recond car.

As once i accompany with a friend whom is interested to get this car, we went to have a look and seems he given a same remark as comparing with this price can buy a new car already especially Toyota camry. As we did not saying how is the car underpower or not? Just saying the " Value" here.

Does it worth it or not?

I will rather buy a brand new car which is hassle free of worrying when yr car will be Kong?
Recondition car i dare not think of it as depending on luck and it is almost same as old car or second hand car which i believe that will surely give problem later.
I will say no to recondition car!

I think the main reason Mark-x is not popular because there are too many rival in its class. To get an unresgisted Mark-X 07 is around 140k-150k, some may consider to buy new car like Camry, Accord, New Sonata. Most stock Mark-x without bodykit doesn't look that sporty.

Unless u took S Package or Modelista. Maybe some may consider Lexus IS250 which cost slightly higher.

Does it mean recon imported Japanese cars Rubber & Plastic won't last here? They do have hot summers in Japan though just not as humid.

depends on the car

I am driving a first gen Honda CRV imported from Japan (grey import). Apart from fading paint, nothing is disintegrating yet.

becoz all of them is recond but not new from UMW...should put the blame on our government that makes the car super expensive and causes toyota not interested with our market and only imported few models to our country....since even if they import more models available here wont make them get more profit
same things happen to other car manufacturer in malaysia....
and we are also always the last to get their latest car model...pathetic malaysia, we pay much more to owns a car but having third world country customer services.... cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

The spare parts actually shared with Lexus IS so maintenance is not an issue just go to Lexus SC.

Main reason it's not popular because it's expensive compared to other alternatives. It's also quite an old model.
