ur one from what engine to what engine? I figured if i'm going to spend more money fixing, might as well get another engine...now wondering what are the engine transplant rules...
*
4g15p injection auto (1.5) to 4g93t injection manual (1.8 turbo)
the transplant rules, you can get it from JPJ (bahagian teknikal).
in brief, 1.5 to 1.8 is OK.. 1.3 to 1.8 cannot.
engine mounting cannot modify, mitsubishi 4g91, 92, 93, even the V6 engine 6A10 6A11 have same mounting. (need some sifu to clarfify), so all these model are ok for wira.

btw, i read chasis must be strong, so if accident before got problem?
*
it was 2++yrs ago. rm13k OTR.
with std GSR engine, i believe the chassis is strong enough to handle the power.
your car accident b4? to wat extend?

now do transplant nid how much budget?? since govnt wan to ban all import on old spare parts n engines
*
it depends on the type of engine you wants. ban will only have minimal effect for 4g93t user la.. since it's parts can be easily find.

Wanted to get myself 1 wira 1.5 manual, age around 2000 - 2003

However, I do not have any closed mechanics. So I have to test drive the car myself at 2nd hand car dealer.

Wanna ask, what thing I must pay more attention on? Worried get a car with a lot big issues later.

Thx
*
1. before start the car, check the engine by open up the engine oil cap. see the internal. brownish or shiny. shiny better la.
2. open up radiator cap, see water clear or not. normally is clear de lo.. dun wanna see rust water.
3. start engine, let it run idle. listen to the exhaust sound. the rhythm of the beat should be even. unless they put highcam or something inside.
4. check engine vibration while idling.
5. rev the engine, listen the exhaust. no misfiring. no funny firecracker sound.
6. drive the car, in slow, accelerate, braking, cornering, and try all the gear from 1 to 5 and R.

btw, i have no idea how to check on the car chassis (whether did it suffer major accident b4 or not)

Answer you in green, no offence, let's discuss more on this, haha......
*
offence not taken.. hahaha..
1. before start the car, check the engine by open up the engine oil cap. see the internal. brownish or shiny. shiny better la.
This, they can always change the engine oil..... change engine oil wont remove the brown/black stain on the metal parts, unless they took out the top cover and clean it.
2. open up radiator cap, see water clear or not. normally is clear de lo.. dun wanna see rust water.
They can always wash it a day before..... if they din wash, then you can know its condition. the water reservoir color will also tells you whether it uses coolant, or kena rust water alot...
3. start engine, let it run idle. listen to the exhaust sound. the rhythm of the beat should be even. unless they put highcam or something inside.
This is the most important part, if engine no good, it will cost rm1000-2000 just to repair it back. Best to know when the car is left overnight. Cold start on next morning will tell thousand stories...
4. check engine vibration while idling.
Mounting problem are small matter, change the mounting and case closed. Unless chasis got problem. small matter, but it can be a bargain point to lower down its selling price. coz we need to pay to repair it. or the seller repair it for you.
5. rev the engine, listen the exhaust. no misfiring. no funny firecracker sound.
Not all can differenciate this.
6. drive the car, in slow, accelerate, braking, cornering, and try all the gear from 1 to 5 and R.
This is good for checking the suspension system. and gearbox condition too.
btw, i have no idea how to check on the car chassis (whether did it suffer major accident b4 or not)
This, use your hand to feel it.....

Thx for all the input. I'm not going to heavy use on this car, only on weekend drive, normal tesco, dinner etc. So, if I bought a wira, and it face radiator heat problem. Is it hard to solve?

Plan to buy a 10-12k wira. With 4-5k extra for repairing. Hope I'm good luck enuf.
*
if got 5k extra for repairing.. it's very very sufficient jor..

Yes I'm talking about the bottom end only, as that is where the chassis number is stamped. My friend 93 NA thinking about going for 93t but use back his block so no need go puspakom. Guess cannot then.
*
you will need the oil squirtters. if not, your engine wont last long. piston wall overheat ka..

1 more thing, what is your advice for me on should I get a wira 1.3 or 1.5?
*
DEFINITELY NOT 1.3..

QUOTE(Lineage @ May 5 2011, 07:17 AM)
Get Wira 1.6  nod.gif

1.6!!! yes! 1.8 better, 1.8T YAH BABY!! flex.gif

QUOTE(bookstore @ May 5 2011, 09:24 AM)
i only having this as weekend ride, tesco and balik kampung. Plan to drive it for another 2 -4 years. Mainly will be city driving.

So, should I just buy a 1.3 and save RM 1k or RM 2k instead of buying 1.5. Then can use the money to service the car or wateva.

Sorry for asking long, coz in tight budget here.
*
you save a 'few' K only.. but with 1.3... you cant overtake cars safely.. your FC high.. you wont enjoy the ride..
somemore you say you need it for tesco (heavy with stuff) and balik kampung (lagi heavy load).. you will cry with the underpower engine. i would say, not worth the money that you save by getting wira 1.3.

Ok, got your point, I will get a 1.5 instead of 1.3. Thx  smile.gif
How to put this in words....  hmm.gif
I'm very young (age 23) and do not want to burden myself with a Vios, City, Myvi, Persona. Which I have to make installment 700 - 1000 per month.

Hence, i decided to get a Wira as it is cheaper in maintenance and I could cash and carry.

Plan to drive for 2-4 years and by any change, my financial is more stable, bought a house, then might get a bigger / nicer car. Else, I will continue driving this car if the car is in good condition. Or I might buy a new car and keep Wira, that will happen when I married.

But all these are still future, which are uncertain. Now is to get myself a WIRA 1.5, joining u guys soon.  rclxm9.gif
*
keep the wira, mod it later when you have extra cash.. kekekke.. put in turbo. thumbup.gif

Good move you have.... But then once you get used to Wira's interior space, you will find you will be hard to get a car as comfort as Wira(but safety wise it is not up to par yet)... Whereby the T and H's highest end sedad's interior space can be on par with it.... Others, well, you test it yourself to get the answers.
If you are doing 20-30kkm a year, rm1000 is the cost for you to keep Wira on its best condition after the first potential rm5000 spent. Which is relatively cheap compare to new cars.
Cash and carry will be the best for the second hand car.....

is anyone here install amp n woofer in ur Wira Sedan?
Im looking for advice.
Can a 4channel amp support both 12" woofer and inside speaker?
I just want some sound, simply got "doom doom" and better than ori speaker sound will do.
Any recommendation?
Since im a college student, my budget quite low.
Thank You in advance.
*
i have a 4 channel amp for front and rear speaker, a 2 channel amp (bridged) for a 10" woofer.
if you want sound with some boom boom, then 4 channel amp with a good 6" front and rear is enough already.
want more boom boom, rear use 6X9 (oval shape speaker).

12" speaker , if a good ones... you will need a good amp to fully utilise it.. if not, it wont 'vibrate' enuf to give you the boom boom.

power steering oil? I just randomly take some auto-gear box oil and refill. If want t remove and clean I dunno, I just clean the container only
wailup, RM500-RM700 can change sound system ah?

I just want decent bass and clear sound..now if any song loud abit or got bass, got cracking sound.
*
cracking sound, is most likely the speaker cone already cracked. get a new one for it. i would suggest 6" component speaker on front and mid bass 6" at rear. and a good 4channel amp.
rm500-rm700?? erm.. depends on how much stuff you're going to upgrade.

amp = rm400 & above should be ok. brand... anything.
component = rm300
midbass = rm300
pre-amp = rm200 (7channel)

i just start my car and move away  sweat.gif

sweat.gif hahah.. i would do the same also.
last time when i request a SC to adjust my autogearbox gearshift sensitivity (want it to shift at higher rpm), and he starts telling me to i need to flush radiator, change engine oil, and also ATF too, or else, the adjustment wont work.
WTF right?

What is the advantage of adjust it? shift at higher rpm will cause higher FC?  hmm.gif
*
i dun think so, mine shift up at very low rpm.. hence, the car totally no power at all. for my wira, as long as i dun shift the gear at 5k above, the fc doesnt effect much. so, before i had the adjustment, i normally drive my car by shifting from L, 2 and D.

What is the optimum setting of the shifting? let say..u press full throttle from 0, it drag until 5k rpm only shift or how many? now I can't even reach 5k rpm with D..last time yes  nod.gif
So gotta set it back..  drool.gif
*
optimum setting? i dunno ler.. i drive depend on feeling. i dun like sluggish feeling (when it shift up, but the car lose acceleration) when i use manual shifting, i will rev until redline 7k, then only shift up to 2 or D. whistling.gif

for my 4g93t manual now, i normally shift up on 2.5k till 3k rpm (depends on the load im bringing). 1.8 has very good low end torque. nod.gif when driving thru bump (with braking slowing down), i can still engaged with 3rd gear, and drive on without having the engine chocking (which the rpm too low) and clutch fully engaged (some ppl tends to press some clutches to avoid engine chocking).
