revert to any 2.1 rom first, like original rom nbo, using SUT.

normally i would use root explorer and delete/rename the app inside /sys/app

the drivers should be along with the phone i think, when you first plugin the phone via usb it should prompt autorun and run the setup should be fine

for GPS issue, try use GpsFix from market to get fixes on satellites, and then use GPS Status to download necessary data to speed things up
