Great thread on the credit cards  been following it for some time and Gen-X's blog before I decided to apply my first credit card.

If it's ok, I would like to ask for some advice regarding the security of credit cards.

My first try of application is for HSBC Amanah credit card. After two weeks I called the CS to enquire about the application status. The CS said that the application card has been denied. I asked the CS if there'll be any emails to inform that the application has been denied as proof. The CS replied no, there won't be any emails to notify me about that. Is it necessary for me to request for an email to state that or I'm just being over-worried?

My second application is for MBB2 Gold cards. Checked my system frequently, and it has just been approved yesterday 
I will be collecting it at a branch. About the collection method, I have heard of differing opinions. Some said it is not safe to collect it from the banks, while some says it otherwise. Besides, if we collect it from the banks, how do we know if the card has not been tampered with?

Previously I read it somewhere in one of the threads, it seems that we also need to sign and write the 3 digit code at a form? Would that expose the credit card security features? If the cards were posted, then there's no hassle of filling up the form and returning it. So, when collecting it at the branch, can we just not sign the form?

So my limit is 2k for both card or 2k for visa & 2k for amex? even if both is combine still less than what I get for current cc.

does anyone know if the weekend 5% cashback is applicable to all spending or only at selected establishments? I can't find a list at the maybank site.

3) do they offer all 3 - visa / master / amex ? or choose 2 only ?

I'm confused. What is Amex membership reward's point and what is Maybank Treatspoints  ? The MBB2 amex 5x points is TP right ? so what is MR ?

I got my Maybankard 2 Amex 15% rebate promo (FEB) + 5% weekend rebate + 5x TPs on February.
Total equal to 22.5%.
I made the purchase at parkson members day RM1000 got RM250 voucher.
That means RM775 to buy the things worth of RM1250.
Total 38% discount.

Really ? I better make the call now    I was thinking what should i tell them just now should i decide to get a replacement card for my MBB2 AMEX.

Please update here if any of you manage to get a replacement card for your MBB2 AMEX due to the reason "my card doesn't have the word Platinum on it despite being a Platinum card" 

If you get the replacement card, you still can mint the AMEX without the Platinum wording

My Maybank2Visa ends with '0000' 

Mine is a opposite. I want to change my Visa to MC. I called them up yesteraday and the cust service say they can do it. However, I should not use the Visa at all. Lucky I did not use.

Got a call from Maybank today, they offered me Maybankard 2 Gold Card, I'm just a fresh grad so not like you guys here have Platinum Card.

Hope this is a good deal. Since I already have a CIMB Direct Access MasterCard, this time I chose for Amex+Visa. Read from this thread, it seems good comments eh?

My first attempts to apply these cards failed, maybe because my outstanding hire purchase loans. (my brother in KL didn't pay for it)
Then now I settled the outstanding, hopefully will approved.

How can I check on the application status besides calling them? Any way I can check via online? 14 days for the cards to reach me seems so long!
