I had to do two torturous layovers in DXB recently (3 hours and 7 hours). Priority pass allowed access into Marhaba lounges which is their equivalent of PPL (poor man's lounge).
Used the one near the A gates both times in Terminal 3. Didn't check out the other two in the other terminals as both flights were on EK, but apparently the one in T3 is the nicer of the lot, based on what I read.
You also have to pay some RM50 to use the mediocre shower facilities, it reminded me of badly designed locker room cubicles.
The lounge gets really crowded during peak hours. You have everyone and their grandmother snoring away on the couches much like the public areas.
But I guess it is the better option as compared to toughing it out in the common public areas while transiting in DXB, as anyone who has had the "pleasure" of having to so would know.
