For dining, if it's classified as cafe merchant code, you'll only be getting 1% rebate. Starbucks and Coffee Bean will not be getting 5% rebate.

The merchant using restaurant merchant code will be entitled for 5% rebate.

This is what the OCBC bank staff told me that day.

Actually, Starbucks Coffee can get 5% Cash-Back rebate brows.gif

That's why we should never pay our bill after a major system upgrade which gives us a MAJOR headache brows.gif

P.s. No transaction got missing during system upgrade.

Hi ronnie and all, thanks for this great thread. I have used this card since April 2011. Great card I must say.  thumbup.gif
I have read through all 98 pages before posting this. Read that you said not worth to use this card for insurance premium, but would like to share my recent experience.

eTiQa Takaful Mesra plan auto debit : 5%! rclxm9.gif

I thought it would be 1%. Until I get my first statement on this new payee. I called CS, they said the MCC is 5968 (the pdf shows "Direct Marketing – Continuity/Subscription Merchan") suppose to be 1% but system wrongly gave 5%, they will correct it. I was like...sheee, should not have called up. doh.gif I demanded him to recheck. He verified and called me 2 days later and told me it is a new MCC for this merchant and will be 5%. Great!  thumbup.gif

What's the new MCC Code for "eTiQa Takaful Mesra plan auto debit" ?

I don't have the card but just curious, why can't you pay online? Just RM2 for interbank xfer via MEPS. Save time and petrol, worth more than RM2 unless you stay close to OCBC branch.

MEPS just loves customer like you.... rclxms.gif blush.gif

hahaha....well, i guess this habit starts from way back to my college time.
that time, i rather walk farther to get to the atm of my bank instead of paying rm1 for MEPS. it's always been this way.
even though now i'm earning three fold of my initial salary, it just feel it's not worth to pay for it.

it depends on individual preference, i always been told by my sis, to do ebanking...spending rm1 or 2 to get insurance from getting expose to risk when transferring physically...she has her point...which i do agree as well, but well, that's just something i used to...

the ocbc branch is very near to the gym that my gf goes, and it's near our houses, so basically it's not troublesome for us to go there. my gf also using ocbc titanium card. right beside it, there's maybank branch, where we get our salary from, so...not troublesome for us  smile.gif
*
My thought exactly... Paying RM1/RM2 is way too high for something so trivial. Some have 1 transaction only... I have many transactions a month. So I opened OCBC iQ Basic to perform 5 FREE IBG a month.

That's why the Gen-Z are getting "lazy" and never find out the most efficient manner to conduct a banking transaction.

Hi, the 5% cash back is it for weekdays or weekends?
*
7 days a week depends on the Merchant Category Code (MCC)... Please refer to 1st page for details.

Not entirely accurate as there are always others who get the mixture of 1% & 5% rebates instead of full 5% rebates.
*
Those who mixes 1% and 5% with OCBC Titanium are not smart spenders like hye and me

I beg to differ. At least 1% cash back is better than other cards. So smart spenders will be using which card for other purchases that do not accept amex?
