nice report. before flashing to CM7 should I delete all apps n hard reset my phone, since I still use froyo?
*
1) No need to delete your apps and also no need to do hard reset.
2) Download the latest CWM and instructions here : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(d...cret-projectgt/
3) Flash it with odin
4) After completed flashing, you'll see the CWM. Select data wipe/factory reset (you only do this once, no need to data wipe again even if you're updating CM roms or hotfix.
4) Download CM7.1.0 v0.8 and hotfix4b
a) Download and instructions here : http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/(d...axy5'-port/
5) Install the v0.8 and hotfix4b using CWM recovery. (to open CWM, press the off button > reboot > recovery.. and your phone will go into CWM).
6) Then install Google Apps.
7) Reboot

Done!

- Do i need to reboot after i changed the CPU setting for start the effect? i try to reboot, all the setting set back to default even i didn't check on "Set on boot".
- What GPS software u are using? can give me the link for download. Is it free?
*
1) You don't need to reboot after changing the Clock Speed (CPU settings).

2) You have to Check/Tick > "Set on boot" , if not, whenever you reboot, the settings will be set back to default.

3) Papago download link : http://www.sendspace.com/file/ge2rso
a) You have to extract the folder, " NAVISEA" to the root of your SDcard. Maps are included.

Enjoy!

how to open this program? Btw do we need to root our cyanogen? Is it using universal androot?
*
this is screenshot app which is installed by default in the phone when you flashed to cm v0.8 + hotfix4.

cm v0.8 is already rooted by default. you don't need to root anymore.

Any noticeable performance difference at 729 MHz?
*
@ Max 729MHz - no sleep issue, no auto reboots, no wifi sleep issues (wifi auto disconnect)

@ Min 245MHz - no video/songs/youtube lags, skype conversations smooth and clear.

I 've tried many other settings, but either have sleep issues/auto reboots/wifi sleep issues or video/songs/youtube lags. So these are the best settings which works well for me - smooth, fast and no lags...and most important it is stable.

Another thing is that I set my governor to ONDEMAND. I've tried POWERSAVE, but this settings makes my skype conversation lags and barely audible. But also it saves battery.

Hi! many thanks for your guide here. I've successfully install it. But I still confused the order in step 5) and 6). So I just install three of them one by one.
After reboot, I cannot install GMail.
Now apps that installed in previous ROM is automatic download! 60+ apps ouch!
*
1) Yup, install one by one in order, ie. cm v.0.8 first , then hotfix4 and lastly google apps.

2) You can further install google apps from this link : http://android.modaco.com/topic/335141-add...pps-2011-07-12/

BUT DON'T INSTALL THE FULL PACKAGE (as Psyke has informed that they may be corrupted because of partial download as our G5 internal storage does not support such big file)

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE APPS ONE AT A TIME.

3) Apps in your previous ROM are automatically downloaded in your new rom because of Google sync. But this is not a problem as you can uninstall any of your apps.

4) CM v0.8 does not include Google apps as it is designed for us to select any google apps according to our own preferences. This is why we need to download and install the google apps separately.

update: never mind, I haven't read the third post on page 1...

and how do i install the google apps from the link you provide?
*
You can install them using two methods :

1) Copy the downloaded file to your sdcard. Install with CWM.

or

2) Extract the downloaded file and ONLY copy the apk file to your sdcard. Ignore/delete other files. Just install it like normal, ie. just select and press the apk to install it with your default installation app.

2nd method seems ok.
SD-Booster isn't needed, since it already applied.
from 0.8 to 0.9 so it's reboot to CWM recovery -> install zip from sd card isn't it. how to reboot to CWM recovery?
*
Yup, install zip from sdcard.

To boot CWM - PRESS > OFF (CALL END) BUTTON > REBOOT > RECOVERY

Before you install v0.9, I suggest you backup your present rom/settings with CWM first. In case you want to revert back to the present rom, you just use CWM to restore and everything will be exactly as your present rom and settings....no need to use titanium backup..etc... This is one thing great about CWM!

what do u mean by dont install full package??

now actually i already start to install the zip file but stuck...
i downloaded these 3 files from madteam

Latest Release:
Full update package: v0.9
Hotfix package: v0.9 hotfix1
Note: Hotfix packages are cumulative, so you only need to flash the newest version.
Google Apps package: Google Apps (20110613)

1st file -> full update package: v0.9 already stucking d... sum1 please help me... stuck at the 'Installing update' for a long time d, about 15 minutes le
*
1) after pressing the off button, you should see the > reboot > recovery options. if you don't, that means CWM is not install yet on your phone.

2) don't install full package > i mean the google apps from http://android.modaco.com/topic/335141-add...pps-2011-07-12/
but you can install the full package from Madteam's > Google Apps (20110613).

3) did you partitioned your sdcard with EXT4 (primary)? if not the rom will not work.

4) did you do data wipe/factory reset in CWM mode (during flashing CWM with odin)?

What is the best cyanogen parameter for v0.9? is it still Min CPU 245, Max CPU 729 and Governors is ONDEMAND? I try this setting in v0.8, when play the AngryBird it seen very smooth, but in v0.9 is seen a little bit lag.
*
You can increase your min CPU to a higher setting.

*
update to the latest minitool partition wizard... ext4 is supported in the latest version... or

flash back to motafoca's v.2.0.9 final, then use the installed app2sd to partition. then do data wipe/factory reset and redo the flashing of CWM with odin, do data wipe/factory reset again in CWM mode, and install cyanogen rom (the three files in your sdcard) with CWM (install from zip). lastly, reboot. Done.

ok i will try it now.. thanks so much now.. do i need to reserve some space for linux swap? previous im using motafoca 2.0.9 so only partition to fat32 and ext3. please advice thanks
*
I don't use swap partition (and have no swap partition). Formerly I used it (swap partition) and it caused some problems in my phone, so now I've deleted it and my phone works fine with MadTeam's roms.

My opinion is just partition only to EXT4 and MUST be PRIMARY, NOT FAT32, as it'll not work in android os.

If you need a lot of apps and games, you can partition your EXT4 to a bigger size as most apps and games are stored in there.

My sdcard is 8GB , my EXT4 size is 1.3GB.

ok.. let say i'm using 2GB memory card.. so i jus partition 500mb to ext4 and the less is fat32 rite? if i not mistaken both primary rite? please advice
*
Yes, both primary.

The size of EXT4 is up to your preference. Let's say you partition EXT4 size 500MB, so you have something of about 1.4 ++ GB for your personal stuffs like your pictures, videos, songs, etc...
