I just accepted an offer to work in Hilti HQ, so I thought I wanna share my experience here of their interview process.

Basically the whole process started out with a phone screening, they will ask you some basic questions about your experience and why you want to join Hilti and what do you know about the company. Once I passed that, they invited me for a group hiring process at their office in Oasis Damansara a week later.

There are 3 parts of the interview process at their HQ, individual interview and a group activity.

Individual Interview:

The interview is done by 2 of their current manager, it is pretty basic. They ask you about your experience, and how would you solve certain problems in the work place either for your customer or between your colleagues.

Group Activity:

It is a role playing activity. I was in a group of 4 people where we were given a case study then we have 20 minutes to prepare to make a presentation as a group.

Once you have done the first 2 parts they will call out certain name out from the room and then you will know if you are selected for the last part of the process which is the final interview. The final interview is done with the current General Manager and the Head of HR. Once that process is done, if you are to be offered a position there you will have to go for a field-ride with their existing staff to learn more about the business and how it runs.

I was offered to go for the field ride on the same day I done the final interview.

All in all the whole process took about 2 weeks for me before I was offered the position. Will be starting my job there soon and I am looking forward to it. Seems like a great company with good culture.

If you guys have any questions lemme know.

Hello there, from your description it seems like a sales or account manager role is it?

How’s your experience now after 10 months? Still with Hilti? And I appreciate if you would share more on your experience

Thanks

Hey there, yeap it is a sales position and yes I am still with Hilti. Just to be clear, I am with Hilti Malaysia and not Hilti IT. So far everything has been good for me, I enjoy what I'm doing right now. I can only speak for the sales team, the company wants you to have an entrepreneurial spirit when it comes to working. So you basically have to treat it as if like you're running your own business, there is plenty of support from the office all the way to the top. Benefits are good and the company does care about their employees. Are you looking to join?

Thanks for the sharing. It is similar to some of the comments I read from jobstreet review and so.

Well for all the points you explained, I receive similar message from HR through phone interview. Thus I’ll be coming for the group assessment as well as individual interview, next week.

And yeah it is a sales role too. Looking forward for d-day. One thing that attracted me to Hilti is that they appreciate people potential over other form factors like experience or expertise.

But one of my concerns is that I’m not from construction industry background, hence I’m curious how competitive is it being a sales professional in this industry, and the kpi I read is quite high and competitive is it?

I wasn't from the construction industry myself and most of the sales guys here are not from the construction industry as well. But there will be plenty of training and support from your team and other departments as well. As long as you're willing to learn, they are willing to share/teach. But I do have to say the job does require you to go into construction sites quite often so be prepared for that.
