i believe this is not the reason....
the main reason is alot of people resign from the company..thus alot of job opportunity from the company..
if the company have variety of job opportunity and do not have new project/client...you have a idea about this company..
turnover high can be mean bad benefit, low pay, stressful environment or very politic..

so choose wisely and ask more question about company when interview  whistling.gif

As business for Hilti is good, Hilti Asia IT Services is actively expanding in Malaysia and doubled the headcount over the last 2.5 years. As Hilti IT wants to add another 50 jobs over the next 3 years, the job postings remain the same. Financial details for the Hilti group can easily be found in the web.
Fluctuation came down to 11% for 2012 and is less than 8% for this year, so there is not a lot of people resigning from Hilti IT.

But the last point maskedchan makes is valid: Inform yourself about your future employer (or ask during the interview)!

Hi, Chris. have you ever attended the hilti's interview? it seems that you have done loads of homework on hilti.
i would like to ask, during the interview, roughly what type of questions they might ask.... lets say, during their first interview.

as i attended some interviews around, there are basically two types.
1. it is a technical interview, specially for IT or technical related positions. asking about programming related stuff.
2. it can be a pure HR interview to evaluation the candidates' characteristics, personalities,  communication skills and so on.

sometimes it is hybrid...

so for hilti, if it is the first interview(by phone), what it is about?
i am just afraid they can't get much of me just by phone....

by the way.... how is the salary there?

hope to get some insight from experienced one like you.

Hmm, yes, I have attended some interviews at Hilti.

The technical questions were quite short, mainly to check what is stated in your CV. As I applied for a senior position at that time, we started quite soon a good technical discussion... but the majority of questions is about the mindset of the candidate and whether (s)he fits the company's core values.

The first interview is done by phone to find out the very basics about you (and for you about Hilti), to identify gaps in your CV and finally to decide about to move on, the subsequent interview rounds are walk-in, eventually including a video conference interview.

Payment is good, not like O&G or consulting but around 3.3k per month for fresh grads.

ppl that i knew work for hilti never want to go back. For a mere position like SAP analyst, they require candidate to interview with senior management like CIO in Hilti HQ? As far as I m concerned, Hilti is not Shell Oil. I hope they dont think they are at level of Shell. They are not even half of Shell presence in Malaysia. Shell CIO has no time for puny interview like this. When they requested cgpa > 3.5 with very limited salary cap, question, who wants to bother interview there? I see vacancy like SAP analyst keep appearing on jobstreet. Their office at phileo 2 is not any glamorous at all, infact it is far from glamorous. laugh.gif

Quite interesting but probably not thought to the end. Following your logic ('...hope they dont think they are at level of Shell. They are not even half of Shell presence in Malaysia') Sime Darby, Maybank and others have the first right to interview the best people, then somewhen Shell and at the end of the chain, the small shop at Lowyat may interview people. On a global scale, Walmart gets the top people, then Foxconn, then IBM and ultimately the mamak stall?
I am pretty sure that the Shell CIO does interviews (at least the CIOs I know from other MNCs do that) - the question is on what level... Some companies make their candidates guess about the number of golf balls fitting into a B747 - so what?

What I see from the job postings is that their IT office is in Symphony house in PJ and their market organization is in Bandar Sunway, so I guess the Phileo 2 office is not in use anymore

When did your friends leave Hilti? As it seems to be interesting I did a bit of homework and googled a few of the keywords: The Phileo office is mentioned the last time early 2011, 'general manager hilti malaysia' leads to a linked in profile indicating that the current GM for the Bandar Sunway office is in place for about 2 years now, so it seems that they left some time ago.

may I know roughly what the expected salary range will be? (as I dont want to set some outrageous amount neither too low of an amount)
@kenknee: Many big companies (and even more MNCs) usually have salary ranges that they are not deviating from. Often they ask about your expectation to learn how good you know the market. In large and good companies this should not really have in influence on the actual offer. I would give it a try...
