A downloadable software called AIDA can measure temps of ur hardware eg. proc, graphic, HDD etc.. Another one is hwmonitor. The Hottest part in laptop would b the GPU (graphic), better keep it lower than 60C or ur room will suffer from green house effect lol. A good laptop cooler will dissipate the heat generated out off the laptop, not blowing air onto the laptop.

Read this. One thing though, it depends on laptop when buying a cooler, you need to know where is the holes underneath your laptop that feeds air to vital component, such as harddisk, CPU, GPU etc.
To be honest you be better without a cooler, just lift the laptop a few centimeter is enough to allow the laptop to breathe so it will have fresh air. Try to avoid putting it on carpeted area or on bed, it will choke the laptop. I just use the bundled free 3 fan laptop cooler but with the fan removed and turn it upside down so it acts like a lifter to feed air to laptop |

Try using HWMonitor or Realtemp to check your laptop's temperatures..
And laptop coolers do not work effectively..all you actually need is some space between the laptop and the surface you're putting the laptop on That way you can have the heat blown away by normal airflow..and putting a running laptop on your bed is a bad idea |

QUOTE(MrBushido25 @ Mar 11 2011, 09:01 PM) You can try the Cooler Master Notepal U2/U3 where the fans can be moved around so that you can position it under the fan..There is a blower that attaches directly to the vents but I forgot what it is called already.. But I do not recommend that because it works for some people only.. |
