hi guys, compare papago and google map turn by turn navigation with voice, which one is better?
*
google maps turn by turn not available in our region. you'll only get direction similar to google maps website.

yo i got one lowyat friend selling ori set for rm888, postage havnt ask, i havnt go detail with him yet

ori set oredi pre install 2gb micro SD ?

Y this phone cant support flash with froyo 2.2.1 inside,
mine DHD can support flash with froyo
*
yup. ori package already comes with 2GB sdcard.
ACE cpu (ARMv6) doesn't have the instruction required by Adobe Flash therefore they exclude support for our device.

Hi,

So far I.m happy with this phone after playing with many apps without any problem.

If somebody can help, I have few questions:

1. How to forward SMS to others? Why the SMS setting comes in thread, not like normal folder such as inbox, outbox, sent, tjrash, etc. Is there anyway we can set it to normal settings like normal nokia phone?

2. Any of u using OPERA? Is it good at your side? I found it slow opening webpage in my phone

3. How to edit wording/title of icon on home and apps page? Some icons have too long name attached to it.

4. what root is for? What advntagw n DISADVNTAGE after rooting phone?

5. By increasing the size/space of mwemory card, will it make our phone faster?

Thanks
*
1. to forward, hold the message. menu with additional action will popup. Why do need it in traditional way? this is the improve version of old method. anyhoo, i'm sure there's an app for that. wait for others reply.
2. i found default browser is just enough for casual browsing.
3. you can actually, if you use launcher eg Go Launcher/ADW Launcher. They allow icon name editing.
4. root is allowing super user access similar to iphone jailbrake. it allows more capabilities out of your phone and it opens up to a lot more access to system. this is both bad(bad program) and good.
5. i believe it will have unnoticeable effect.

m using google navigation with voice. it's free.
just wanna know how much diff compare to papago.
maybe i should install papago and write a comparison.

For browser,
try using Skyfire browser... it supports certain flash side(sorry no Flash games). i use it to watch live football streaming when astro is down or in office...

i would suggest everyone to get unlimited package for broadband. this phone works better with full internet access.

Added on March 29, 2011, 4:42 pmguys, have u heard of an app that allows u to root ur phone through your phone without using PC. i just downloaded it and read the review in youtube..seems like it worked...

anyone tried this app before?
*
how do you get it to work?
mine prompted with 'google maps navigation is not yet available in this location'

mine rooted using superoneclick 1.7. you run it from PC. no SDK required.

are you in malaysia? we dont use wcdma here (except for 0113).

what your dealer said was, if the 3g line congested (which sometimes is), you can fall back to 2g. this can be achieve by ticking 'use only 2g network'.

3G/HSDPA are using WCDMA base system in Malaysia.

For USA or Japan, they are using CDMA.
I think you got that mess up.

there is 2 way for GPS to lock;

1) Use wireless networks (wifi / mobile network)
2) Use GPS satelites

these selection can be found in settings > location and security
*
you got it messep up.

using PAPAGO, will require GPS to be turn on. but without packet data enable (standard GPS, not AGPS), this will greatly depend on your location and will take more than 2mins to connect.

but enabling packet data (AGPS), this will help you connect in less than 30seconds, provided it can get connected to Internet to download AGPS data.

using network location (wifi / mobile network), this can be use for latitude, twitter geolocation and sort of.

I think you maybe messed up on the last part. Android have two features to pinpoint your location. One using the hardware GPS which you elaborated clearly, the other one is using wi-fi / mobile network.

For a simple test. Try run Maps and see that it start with a large radius (accuracy) then it reduced to smaller and the accuracy range decreases. The first time you fire up the Maps, it will use the readily available data which is wi-fi (based on IP) or mobile network (based on telco tower triangulation), then when the GPS lock up, it will use the latter as it is more accurate.

That is why sometime we can have GPS location while inside the building although most of the GPS hardware are struggling to get signal even PND unit.

Wifi/mobile network is not A-GPS.
*
thx for pointing it out. hehe.

btw, did you notice that, latitude require wifi to be enable even not connected to improve accuracy. how does this work? btw, gps is off. i'm on network location.

Thank you for reply. Yes. It's rooted. Couldn't search "set cpu" from the market . But i could search it on market.android.com. Unfortunately, i couldn't download it to my phone. Is there any other ways to download it? ^.^
*
google somehow block certain apps for certain region. even tho you can find in at market.android.com, it wont allow you to install. same goes for market app on ur phone. you wont find it.

for this, you need to emulate that ure from another region. use 'market enabler' for this.

move2sd? i think it is called app2sd.

app2sd is the one that we r using to minimize "installed apps" in the internal storage into SD card or another larger internal capacity.
*
but you need to enable it first. and for this, you use move2sd enabler.
