Suse's lovers and fans, proudly to announce that the latest 11.4 already out for download from their mirrors. Just choose your method, be it direct download or torrent. DVD version with full of application at 4.7GB is not a small size and it might take hours or days to complete it all depending on what speed you have now.

For more infos, opensuse 11.4 portal can be read here.

Download page for opensuse 11.4 can be find here.

Currently downloading at full speed and the expected completion would be another 7 hours! omai mai... cry.gif

Those already downloaded and installed your 11.4, do share your experienced here nod.gif I doubt, because it just been released few minutes ago.

lol, I am not yet to reach there until installed it on my pc. As usual kernel, DE, apps... newer in numbers. At the forum, the testers said that this release is far more stable compared to 11.3. Hoping that will be true.

Keyword = Tumbleweed.Rolling release repo bebeh. That's the biggest shocker to me because I thought it was only gonna be ready for release 11.5.

Not sure if I'm gonna whirl this coz I'm not big on GNOME or KDE.The lighter XFCE or LXDE derivatives out the same?I don't think so at this time of writing.

actually tumbleweed already started on 11.3, but mostly for trial purpose. They had some problems of conflicting repos between suse itself and packman, in other word if we wanted the bleeding edge repos tumbleweed is not the best option. Maybe they already solved it in this 11.4, we'll see how it goes.

My report for opensuse kde live cd 32bit. Install with modem off.
Fail to boot using mepis 11 boot loader
Install again this time grub to MBR. Opensuse 11.4 grub fail to detect mepis 11 partition.
No idea what eating cpu load. LED hard disk always busy.
Reboot & repair mepis boot loader.

I have try 11.4 milestone and its stable. But I don't have much experience to do a thorough test. Best KDE Distro so far.

The standard release cycle should be every 8 months, however the time would drag more than the schedule if any new bug fixes to be inserted before the RC and golden release. But I couldn't remember if there were any previous releases took longer than 9 months hmm.gif
