idk at the moment I'd say PSP 2 mostly because I find Nintendo's focus on 3D to be a little gimmicky, regardless there are still some pretty good 3DS games I'm interested in, I just see better games going on the PSP2.
Of course, that's what I said with the launch of the DS and PSP and look what happened.

I'm open to changing my mind a few weeks down the road once the 3DS finally launches, but for now all I'm interested in is SSF43D and Zelda OOT.
For the PSP I can see perfect ports of games like Call of Duty, Uncharted, Killzone and GTA4, closer to the console experience, because quite frankly most of the time I don't care for handhelds.

PSP is much more awesome. PSP always been the best at delivering loads of technology. But since Nintendo is coming out sooner, it'll be cheaper than PSP

wth,where you get that release date for NGP?

I prefer NGP (not PSP2) NGP sounds cooler then PSP2 lolz.

I will buy both eventually ;p

as for which one to buy:

NGP
-Looks great
-Games look great too
-Im a sony fanboy
-Price will go through the roof initially

3DS
-Love the current games they have on it
-Heard the '3D' effect isnt really all thats hyped up about. So i need to playtest a unit before i can make a final decision.

Either way though,for a handheld with a price tag above rm 1.1k ,isnt raelly worth it to me. Will wait a couple years for the prices to come down first

3DS got better tittles, though I'm not interest with 3d feature, can i turn this off while playing games?

psp2 to me just too gimmicky, and maybe suitable for those into high tech gadget than actual playing any game

I think this is more of a gimmick versus beautiful graphics really. The touch screen of the NGP makes me wonder how defunct would buttons be now.

Not a fan of 3D. Someone has commented why there are headaches to some people. Reason is 3DS has 2 screens, but one of the screen is 3D and the other is 2D. When playing games, you have to use both screens, so you might look at 3D screen then look at the 2D screen. This switching is confusing the eyes, needing the eyes to refocus for 2D then refocus for 3D when you switch back. This is causing strain, and in matter of minutes, causing headache to those that are not used to this.

I think this time round...PSP2 has more innovations....more hardware power, better dual analog sticks, and a touch screen at the rear of the portable...

The 3DS has a RESISTIVE touch screen (OMG...this is year 2011...still RESISTIVE!!!), a gimmicky 3D screen (which is probably bad for children's eye in the long run...i can hear tons of lawsuites coming to Nintendo for destroying the eyes of a generation of children).

Yep...Nintendo really failed this round.

I'll wait to see which platform got game that appeals to me.

But I will eventually buy both, just like I did with the DSL and PSP.

Need to do more investigations before choosing the handheld. I heard 3DS games are region bound. is it true?

they use resistive touch screen so the touch input can be more precise. your big finger vs stylus, stylus win in terms of precision.

but then, NGP is quite awesome with the graphic, just wondering about the battery life, can it outdo 3DS's 4-5 hours?

oh, and when DS first released, people say touch screen is just a gimmick, and now anything by sony is not a gimmick i guess?

even i never had portable console, i will choose the psp2..demm, i will buy 1 for sure

i have tried the 3DS playing street fighter, and cant see much of 3D though, and felt dizzy after playing 5 Minutes and the battery life is under 3 hours.

FYI,battery can be increased to 4-5 hours,using power saver,reduce the brightness,etc.

u can lower down the 3D ness on the 3D slider to your preffered 3D,
and the sweet spot is very large,so debunked.

it's all about the games anyway....

so, i'd vote for whichever console that has more original games designed to be played on the go, not another port of a game i can play in glorious HD on a bigger screen at home. innovation is a gamble and power isnt everything

Sony's NGP is strictly download only from the playstation store while you can still buy game cartridges for the 3DS. Have you ever try downloading gears of war 2 for xbox on demand? Yeah, try 18 hours of bandwidth hogging download for just one game...

Count me in for the 3DS camp. No NGP for me.

What are you talking about? NGP will have both downloadable game though PSN and physical game in form of memory card.

One more thing, OLED > 3D.

if u count 3d mayb 3ds win but the downpoint is it make people dizzy.

I'd say both wins, depends on what the consumer is actually looking for...

Horsepower + graphics = NGP
Gaming experience = 3DS

Have experienced both ends on almost every generation of their portables and I guess the above definition is quite a clear cut eversince the PSP vs NDS era began. Left out thoughts based on piracy capabilities to be fair .

Dizzy playin 3DS?. Some ppl play 1st person also dizzy, watch proper 3D movies with glasses also dizzy (at home or at the theaters). As for me, just chill n enjoy = no dizziness on all scenarios. Think it's a bit over-hyped la, like so many other "issues". Well, how times have changed....

It's all personal preference in the end....

On paper I'll get a PSV, 3DS can wait (very long). That's on paper.

Still have to wait for the games so that a better comparison can be done. I still don't trust Sony's hype as much as they are well known for putting impressive videos on their devices and claim it as actual game screen.

Stick with 3rd. Have no money to buy now. Still playing my Nds lite.

3DS because I just got one
and I love nintendo, quality games and I dislike those slow moving 3rd person view like Assassins creed,Uncharted and Mass Effect, and also I like games with pretty colours

besides that, Sony is mean to nintendo.

Look at the game library for each devices. I personally think that 3Ds is more for kids. PS Vita is more teenagers. I vote for PS Vita. lol.

Get both so you won't miss out on any great games on either platform. If you can't afford both i'd probably go with the PSV. I have a 3DS btw and i honestly can't really vouch for it that much. Their software lineup is pretty weak right now, even their upcoming titles aren't that much to look forward to imo. But that depends on your taste really.
But that's just my 2 cents, important thing is, enjoy gaming any which way!

how about we make the decision easy-peasy:

if monster hunter is out on 3DS then 3DS
if monster hunter is out on PSVita then PSVita
if monster hunter is out on both consoles then cry your wallet a river

I'm more to PS Vita. 3DS looks childish to me. PS Vita has more big titles and better graphics. Whereas 3DS is just mario, Zelda, Pokemon... I will pick PS Vita over 3Ds, but I will get 3Ds if I have extra money. =)

hmm ,the only reason i would buy 3DS is for pokemon.

3DS doesnt feel like a "next gen" to me, but more of a improvement over the DS, but with 3D.

I never liked DS, and I hated Nintendo for bringing dual screen yet again with 3DS.
Both gameplay and aesthetically, it feels very 'shambly'
Why cant they just make it full touchscreen?

I know some ppl who use to hate dual screen grew to love it, but I just cant.

That being said, I miss playing pokemon...
All the EV and IV training and whatnot.
Im glad they a remaking old versions of pokemons from time to time.I really hope the next nintendo handheld, theyd ditch the fugly dual screen and remake ds and 3ds pokemon games.

How compare lol...both r good and they have good games. sony for those heavy serues. nintendo has the ace attorney series and pokemon. But somehw i dont really like the 3DS for some reasons. cant wait for vita wooo!!

you can see that drastic changes unless you blind

what he meant is ds to 3ds just minor improvement if count out the 2nd screen as touch pad and 3d (which not really that good 3d too)
and it comes out a bit late which people expecting next gen coming out but still at level of previous gen something that psp can play too.

Just buy both n get best of both worlds. (graphics/specs/bling factor aside) it's all about the exclusive games on each respective platforms anyway.

NDS3d is full of shi.t... Even my PSP 3006 can do 3d.... Just install cfw and 3d plugin.... Better choose vita...has dual touch screen,analog.... Plus have 3g for portable online play...

err.. bro not all PSV games support 3G online MP
3G not kao enough for online MP, Sony need to release 4G/LTE/etc for PSV

but as far as i know with HSPA+ 21Mbps infrastructure, your ping may less than 50 miliseconds...

I would get both if I can.Both of them have games that I want to play.3DS for fire emblem,pokemon,AA series,layton and many more.Vita so far have P4:Golden and when vita is hacked,my god we will have ps2 portable.

if a comparison were to be made.nintendo 3ds will lose big time.it's a fact.but a gamers will always be gamers right.we probably buy them both like previous system.

the sad thing is only graces f confirm will have english ps3. vesperia complete ps3 and xillia ps3 no news yet for english other than the fan translation that utilize hacked ps3

now if they put all the previous tales in vita, that would be heaven. to play back toe/tod/tod2/symphonia/symphonia2/abyss/vesperia/graces f/xillia... but its just a big dream. bamco doesn't even want to let small group handle it like Gust and NIS. they make all the japanese rpg game possible, plus giving us dua audio!

i know pokemon will boost nintendo sales . but im wondering how did pokemon sells so well when the gameplay is the same from 90s ..they madr graphics bit better but not much, storyline just different abit ..
new pokemon .. hurm what else .. i dunno latest pokemon how.. but the last pokemon i played looks similar to pokemon yellow

anyway pokemon is the only take turn games i like . nvr enjoyed digimon, ff .when plying a while cn get addicted.

I think when the next pokemon series comes out, probably by end of this year or early next year, 3DS going to sell like hot cakes.
Imagine pokemon with AR technology where you can view all the pokemon you collected info on pokedex on real surface.
Also, possibility of pokemon match on real surface. Don't even need to method 3d pokemon attacks and movement.
Add in real time-based pokemon (raising/dating) games, hnggggggghhhhhhhhh.........

and with graphics that really use all the 3ds powerhouse had to offer..not like previous entry where they only upgraded the graphics a little.

I hope this threas is not dead yet. Would like to hear more opinion on 3ds and ps vita after they already been several months on the market.

So as we know, 3ds are sold very well indeed lately with the ratio of almost 5:1 compared to PSV thanks to current large library of games topped with backward compatibility and their new comers like pokemon, tales of abyss, icarus and so on.

While PSV having a very great specs on its hardware, their lack of games up to date is really a turned down to most. Yes, they already have some great games already entitled to it like uncharted, Gravity rush and persona, but still to compare overall, the list is still very small. But they keep promising that "killer" game will come in the future

I am planning to buy one of the handheld game console and it might be between the on coming 3ds XL or PSV. Alreasy sold my ps3 because now i am regularly on the move and ps3 might only collecting the dust at home.

Would like to hear more opinion especially those who has experience on both platform. For me, specs, hardware, looks are second What I look after is gaming experience. My fav games are mostly in adventure and rpg.

What do you guys think about both consoles future? Will 3ds attratcts more dev hence more games in the future? Or PSV will trump after their promised "killer" games come out in the future. Eagerly waiting for FFX remaster myself.

And don't start to compare with iOS coz i think a proper game platform is better.
