QUOTE(xMeltz @ Aug 31 2011, 06:23 PM)
Actually I tweeted them straight after i found out my deduction. I did called Hotlink but the solution they give me is to turn off data, or jailbreak and turn off GRPS which i find it ridiculous. Why do i need iPhone if to use without data?

MaxisListens attended my case but unable to give me a proof that the credit has been refunded. The person attended me told me that not all transaction is reflected in e-statement so I asked him does that mean the e-statement is inaccurate, he say it is not inaccurate. I asked again so is it accurate, he couldn't answer me straight that it is accurate. What does that means? As a user, I feel being cheated. In short, I conclude they never solve my case.

How you all solve your credit deduction problem?
*
My current case hasn't been solved yet, they referring my case to the technical department, and the Hotlink staff (the 1 i tweeted) said that they will definitely refund to me, but have to wait for the technical team to investigate first.

It is impossible for us to off data cause we are on a monthly data plan! They are not giving you a correct solution. If I were you, I will scold them off on the spot, how can you charge me while I am on the plan?

And, for the rebate, you can check whether your balance is increased or not, or you can check the E-statement. Previously my case on hotlink reload via FPX online payment, they rebate me, and I can check it through E-statement they rebated me.

For your case, I suggest you to tweet them again, explain your problem again and demand for the rebate if you did not receive any rebates yet.

Hi all,

My sis's Hotlink get deducted RM1.50 weekly by receiving a SMS from 28899. I think she accidentally subscribe to one of the Hotlink services. Anyone know how to unsubscribe/stop the hotlink services subscription?

File a complain via Customer Service Hotline or via Tweeter (http://twitter.com/MaxisListens). You need the help of their staff to help to inactivate.

QUOTE(xMeltz @ Aug 31 2011, 08:09 PM)
Yes I did scold them on the spot and the hopeless customer service personnel say nothing they can do about it. Thru phone, nothing I can do about it also.

I did check and there is not increment in the e-statement. In fact, they couldn't answer my question. When i told the MaxisListens personnel about this, he insist saying not all transaction is reflected in e-statement therefore it might refunded without my knowledge and i might have overlook it because of my other usage. That is not a convincing answer for me. How you can say it was refunded while nothing in the e-statement reflect of the refund? If not all transaction reflected in the e-statement, what is the purpose of e-statement? I asked all these question, and the person unable to answer me back. MaxisListens personnel say that's all he able to do, nothing else. Is that solve my problem? No right?

Hoping anyone who faced this matter will be able to give some advice.

Touch wood, hope that there won't be any problem with my case, I do not wanna waste my RM20 just like that.

QUOTE(Shah_15 @ Aug 31 2011, 09:05 PM)
hey guys. im currently using hotlink and i enjoyed activ 10 rate very much. and recently Im thinking to move to the postpaid. Does postpaid offered similar saving such activ 10?
*
There is some add on thingy such as you pay RM8 per month and you can enjoy cheap rates to few selected numbers. Go their website and check it out.

xMeltz : Luckily, my case solved, they rebated RM19 into my number. They also gave me a phone call saying problem solved. Have you carefully monitor or checked your credit?

QUOTE(mynewuser @ Sep 1 2011, 01:12 PM)
I subscribe to monthly data plan. When I check my e-statement. Notice data usage deduction being made also. Why this similar case still occur? MAXIS want to cheat customer money ka?

Also when call to hotlink customer service. They like to put customer on-hold till line drop. This is not first time they drop my call. They do not even want to call back. I think all their phone CS need to be replace.
*
Normally credit wouldn't be deducted for Data because you are already on Data plan. There maybe some system glitches on their site. Report the problem, better with twitter (MaxisListens) cuz it won't cost you a cent. They had jz rebated my credit , I was charged previously , I am also on a data plan.

Thanks bro. Will register an account when i have the time... honestly i dont like to create so many accounts as I dont think I'll use them... anyway to solve my problem i think will still forced to register one... Maxis owe me nearly RM30...
*
Worth your time to get a twitter account. Nowadays can make complaints thru twitter and you will get quite good response from them too.

And maxis customer care line charges us! Illogical, customer care should always be free! I remember last time spending nearly RM10 just to make a complaint. rclxub.gif

I'm currently using Maxis Hotlink. Rarely make calls or SMS, but I do use the RM68 500MB package. I'm not interested in getting a new phone.

Is there any advantage for me to switch to postpaid?
*
Cheapest plan for postpaid is value first which you have to pay RM30 commitment fees per month for calls and sms. If you would like to add on a data plan, which 500mb will cost RM58 cheaper by RM10 compared to prepaid. I see no point of you changing to postpaid as you make such less calls or SMS.

do i need to upgrade to postpaid to get this BIS plan?
*
You don't need to convert to postpaid. There are a few choices of BIS plans on hotlink prepaid. Check it under EasyMenu , *100# , choose 7 , then go under Blackberry services.

QUOTE(dgboy @ Sep 12 2011, 09:08 PM)
This is about the New Hotlink Plan, which I found out the hard way no longer gets 90 days validity for minimum RM5 topup.  I asked Maxis if they could switch me back to my previous Basic plan, which I used with Hotlink 365 the last 2 or 3 years.  They just replied no today.  Here is my last chance email to Maxis tonight. A company as big and profitable as Maxis should behave responsibly by posting accurate, up-to-date, clear, complete and informative content on their website so users are not misled.

Thank you for your reply. Before I make a final decision on whether to continue with Hotlink after being a loyal customer since 24 December 2005, please be so kind as to inform me what validity period the new Hotlink plan will get if I top up the following amounts?

RM5

RM10

RM30

RM60

RM100

Please also advise where such information can be found on your website, which as per my original email last month suggests RM5 for 90 days. Once again, I wish to point out that the misleading information has lead me to switch to a plan that is unsuitable for my needs. I am fully aware the rules say you cannot switch back to previous plan later. That is why studied your website so carefully before making my choice.

A reply via email would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Lodged a report via skmm website. I bet they will be scared and they will contact you asap to satisfy you.

I wonder when will Maxis/Hotlink introduce an unlimited mobile internet plan like UMobile. Data is stupidly expensive on Maxis/Hotlink, yet they don't offer unlimited. I seriously don't mind being throttled when past my allocated quota. 10 sen per KB is insanely expensive.
*
Since it is good money for them, I think they will never stop this data policy anywhere near the future.

Anyway, for prepaid users, we can check our usage anytime thru EasyMenu, way safer than those on postpaid.

Hey there, I want to jump from digi to maxis due to bad reception in my area. The thing is, I need a plan for my smartphone that has minimal calls/sms commitment but has tons of data (5gb above). My budget is 200 max monthly. Please advise thank you.
*
RM200 budget is quite a large sum. You should opt for postpaid plans. Choose a principal line plan for your voice and SMS and on top of that choose a monthly internet plan.

Please visit Maxis official website for postpaid plan choices bro.

An example of various types of Internet plan for a postpaid line :

about the New Hotlink Plan, i want to highlight the information below that appears on Maxis Forum now

after your credit expired, it seems there is 50 days grace period, but if you do not top up within 30 days any leftover credit will be forfeited

this sounds very like the old Hotlink plan from ~2004, except then the overall grace period was 90 days

Maxis seems hell bent on grabbing our credit and terminating our line

You are still able to receive call and SMS during the grace period. It will remain active for another 50 days from the day of deactivation. E.g: You top up on 01/01/12 for RM10; it will be valid until 10/01/12. Your credit will still remain in your account for another 30 days (09/02/12) and will be forfeited if you did not reload. You will be given another 20 days until 28/02/11 before the line is expired and will be disconnected.

Seems fishy. Those mentioned above is not written on their website right?
