Hi guys, how much is a cheapest 50" plasma available? I don't need the latest bells & whistles, just looking for a good value for money panasonic plasma.
*
Nt 100% sure, but I think the 2010's 50X30K would be the cheapest option. Now it should be selling about RM2700? The next one would be 50U30K, around RM3250.

Thanks bro, any good shop to recommend?

Added on May 5, 2011, 9:47 pmIs it necessary to get a full hd for plasma tv's?

You can check out Legend Hifi at SS2, PJ. Their prices are usually lower than other electrical shops, esp if you are buying multiple items from them. But some people prefer to pay a little bit premium at places like Best Denki or Harvey Norman for the peace of mind. There are also some who bought from some of the sellers/members here in LYN, but at your own risk la.

I'm not a techie person, but if I'm not mistaken, you'll only really utilize the Full HD capability if you are into Blu-Rays or going to download a lot of High Def movies from the Internet, or a hardcore PS3 fella. The distance you usually sit from the TV would be a factor too. If you are seating 10 feets away from your TV, chances are your eyes won't be able to really tell the differences between a Full HD TV and a non-FHD.

If you have the budget, just go ahead and get one I reckon tongue.gif

Wonder where we can get price around RM3,250 for 50U30K as Best Denki is selling the model at RM4,499???
If prefer non-FHD models, should look into Sammys' new plasma which comes with 3D as well; cost a bit more???
*
Ops gave wrong info pulak. 50U30K at RM4250, 50X30K at RM3250 and 50X20K at RM2700.

Keke enjoyed your sarcasm though. Thanks for pointing out. ;-)

I've been watching my 50u20k for a year now and do not find reflectiveness an issue.
*
My parents are having this 50U20K. And I can tell you the reflective screen of this model is definitely an issue. Some members here even referred this model as the mirror tv. Maybe if u always watch tv at night and minimal lighting then it wouldn't be irritating la.

Not sure whether it's true or not. But when I look at 50U30K's screen, it doesn't look that reflective anymore. Maybe Panasonic has done some improvement after receiving so many complaints about it

Bruder, I am asking whether there is a function within the Pana plasma to remove such logos to prevent burnt in.
I recall my Sony LCD has one.
I am unable to locate the function with the Pana remote.
*
Wow really got such feature? I thought the Astro logo comes from the source feed? Can the tv itself removes them?

Hiya. I just got my new 50VT20K. Been using it to watch Blu-rays and DVDs for the past few days. But I noticed there seems to be some audio prob. I feel that the sound of the actor's voices are softer than the other sound effects. Any idea how to rectify this?

u got a good tv + blueray player, so just invest to 5.1 or 7.1 HT system, what u need is a center speaker now , or sony 3.1 soundbar may help u, if u still insist to watch blueray by using built in tv speaker , then have to manual adjust the tv sound EQ lor, but just little bit improvement i guess smile.gif

I'm not an audiophile, so I'm not a very demanding user. Its not the quality of the overall sound that I have problem with now. It's just that I noticed the volume of the actor's voice is significantly lower than the volume of everything else. Don't think it's normal right?

I have not experience this with my VT. How is your BD/DVD setup? via hdmi straight to your VT?
*
Yea the BD player is connected to the VT via the HDMI provided. Hmmm

Try changing the Sound setting, under "user" or change the sound mode to "Voice or was speech"
*
Ok I'll try this later. Thanks.

Hi Guys,

I got quote RM5k for 50V20. Is it a good deal ?
*
Hmm to me not a very good deal. Coz I bought 50VT20K last month at RM5899. It came with the 3D Combo Kit that includes the BDT300 player.

Unless you really do not want the 3D feature la.

Actually, I am waiting for 65" to drop below RM7000...then to hell with the electricity cost, I am going to buy another Plasma. For the time being, the 50" will have to do.
*
Yea I think its impossible too. By the time it drops to RM12000-15000, it will all be snapped up by wealthy apeks oredi. tongue.gif

I played 3D movie bought from SS2. I used TV remote and pressed Aspect button. The TV just display 16.9 word and the movie still in 4.3. I pressed the Aspect buttton many many times, the movie still in 4.3
*
Hey there, I believe we are fellow owners of 50VT20K right? Why buy 3Ds from SS2? I've been buying them from Amazon.com and they are surprisingly very affordable.

I'm still very annoyed with the tv's low volume of speech/human talk sound though. Hmmm

how much is a 3D bluray from Amazon plus postage? less than RM40?
*
I think for most 3D Blu-ray titles, they will cost about RM60-100 after including the cost of shipping. If you buy original ones here in Msia, the 3Ds would easily cost you around RM130-180.

For non-3D ones, you can get them from Amazon for as cheap as RM30 to RM50, and that's after including shipping cost too! ;-)

how long to ship the disc to Malaysia? My friend told me around 6-8 weeks.
*
For Amazon US, it will take around 4-8 weeks for standard shipping. You can pay extra US$20 to cut it to 2-4 weeks or extra US$40 for DHL courier service that will only take 3-5 days.

I usually get mine from Amazon UK. Most of my parcels arrived within 8-12 days by only paying for Standard Shipping, that costs on average 2-3 £ a disc.

I bought my 50VT20K during HomeDec 2 months ago for RM5899. It comes with BDT300 Blu-ray player, 3 3D bluray movies, 2 3D glasses, 1 HDMI cable and Skype camera.
