honestly, i still think the ref totally changed the game. barca was good, but they only looked good because of the tactic arsene wenger chose to play, which i think wasnt the wrong one.

arsenal was only trying to sit back, defend and break on the counter attack. and at 1-1 you couldnt say our plan wasnt working. but after the red card, the plan was totally screwed.

if you did watch the match, i think the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half up until our goal kinda showed that we could play our game but chose to play something different.

just my opinion
*
totally agree,he kill the game off, with 1-1 we could pretty much counter them in their own game.they did have superior hold on the ball.but seriously clear cut chances before rvp marching orders?we were good in defending.at 1-1 with 11 against 11,arshavin can be deployed in to replace rosicky or fabregas, and nasri did that blistering run throughout the game, just that rvp is missing cry.gif .haiz.well atleast we played and showed character plus we beat them at home.but Barca had their lady luck with them, which they utilize it professionally.on arsene on his stubborn philosophy, well let arsene do his magic.we are in safe hands icon_rolleyes.gif ,and this season we will have a a trophy or two.can you all feel it?

I admit this is the worst defeat ever vs Barca and probably worst in several years. Maybe Arsenal try to defend their lead, but it did not gone well after RVP sent off and the stats make Arsenal look very noob. But as i said before, yesterday match will make Arsenal a better squad (just like what L. Orient manager said). Probably there are no other team can schooled Arsenal this bad than Barca, it is good experience for the players to face the best team in the world 4 times in 2 seasons (especially for Djorou, Szcezsny, Koscielny and Wilshere which can be considered newbie in European competition). And the scoreline show some improvment, you can't deny it (from 6 - 3 to 4 - 3, not bad huh?).
*
plus with the aid of referee.yeah it is. nod.gif and we scored at nou camp where some team find it hard to score like inter milan last season and chelsea few seasons back.

although the team perform badly, its still an acceptable defeat to me.
if its 11 vs 11 i tink we might still stand a chance..

i tink even the best team in the world will struggle to match them 11vs11.
but we have to play them with 10 men for more than half an hour !!

no complain from me, juz hope they get over it asap and concentrate on epl instead.

yeah...totally agree jay chou fan..hehe

i still prefer to support underdog instead of the fav, so been supporting them since then.
been through all the major heartbreak of galatasaray, liverpool, barca and not birmingham  sweat.gif

QUOTE(c_calvin @ Mar 9 2011, 06:11 PM)
Like you said, at 56/57min, the score is 1-1, and we are going through if the score stay the same.
Barca is the better team in that match, no doubt bout it. But in football, the better team doesn't always win.

AW obviously send the team out to defend(Rosicky starts ahead of Arshavin proved this), simply because we don't have to score to go through. IIRC, in the 1st half we contain you guys pretty well, apart from Adriano's shot that hit the post, I can't remember Barca has a very clear cut chance, this means that AW's tactic is working. If Cesc didn't try to be too clever outside his own penalty box, I think at half time it would remain at 0-0.

We might not have a chance to score another goal when it's 1-1, but i have to remind you that we don't have to.
I don't deny that Barca is the better team, but I don't understand why you cant accept that that the red card changed the game.
If we have 11 players on the field, i still believe that we have a chance to defend the 1-1 score, it is after the red card we get cut open easily.
*
totally agree.the game was heading to a similar fashion like what happen in Emirates.Imagine Messi got sent off, and Barca end up playing with 10 men, well barca96 count your team's lucky star and move on. Gunners know how to beat Barca,we beat you with your own style of play at Emirates, just on the 2nd leg u got that extra man(ref) on your side.

to be honest.it's really frustrating to be an arsenal fan this few years bcos of the trophy-less seasons.but dont know why, still cant ignore arsenal.haha.
*
though trophy less, gunners are consistent enough to make it to top 4,make it the champion league, beat some best teams on the run and always fight till the end.just need more consistency on matches that matters the most and we will have the trophy. rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif

I really think our main weakness is our center back position.

We need a really solid leadership style of CB.
For example, Terry, Vidic those kind of player.
Last time we have it in form of Tony Adams and Sol Campbell.

Kols and Djourou are both not leaders.
*
yes that is for sure.but we always seem to get a injury prone players.but yeah its not the attacking, the answer lies on the defence.we need defenders!!!

QUOTE(Azurues @ Mar 13 2011, 03:35 AM)
For once as an Arsenal fans, i am starting to doubt Wenger ability as a manager. His starting line up, players sub in decision all are really really poor. I know we will have a lot of problem from ManU counter play just by looking at the line up.

This team is over dependant on some players on the field already. Really speechless 90 mins of my life. With this kind of play Arsenal don't deserved to win anything at all.

The defense really got wreck a part today. There is not a single good defender today but only some luck and Almunia to save us from conceding far far more.

The midfield is a disaster. Is almost like 4-1-3 formation with Wilshere doing everything and anything.

U can see Nasri really angry towards the end? I can say he is only so frustrated with the team.

No return already for Arsenal. 3 weeks time lose 3 trophy, lose half the team.

Perhaps Arsenal already lose everything the moment Vermaelan/Fabianski got injured but it takes time only before we realise it.

Don't blame the ref, luck bla bla bla but all to blame is Arsenal.

Chamakh free header, fail.
Rosicky free goal scoring opportunity fail.
RvP free kick didn't even reach half the wall.
Nasri with all his trickery and stuff usually to pass to either Walcott or Fabregas but totally none today.
Wilshere doing Song,Fabregas,Diaby,Denilson job at the same time.
Arshavin totally lost in the game even though he did well in 1st half.
Gibbs doh.gif
*
Totally.Wenger need to reduce his egoism and stop with naturing youngster.he should keep hold on current star player in the likes of fabregas n nasri and let go few player, not as free transfers though and buy some experienced players.was speechless the whole game,at once we looked like winning, but end up losing.gibbs was poor he watched his marker pass him as the second goal went in.and arshavin seriously?gosh what happen to the russian sniper, wilshere is the only leader i would say in this troublesome period. But why other players seem so lethargic.i even overheard the commentator fuming on arsenal slow counter attack and couple of time highlighted some of the player eagerness to go forward and make that extra run~~!!

Barca, arguably world best team right now, with world best youth academy system. They even spend on players.

*
rclxms.gif rclxms.gif nicely said.
They even brought over Mascherano last season as a holding midfield.and look at their defenders coping witout Pique and Puyol. The only answers lies on Wenger hand.but i somewhat feel Arsenal been going downhill since the departure of David Dein our former vice-chairman rght?he had realy close relationship with Wenger, and that time we made couple of good signings during his tenure.

+1. Arsene had been working alone all this while.
Denilson decent? Ramsey was much better. Even the commentator said Denilson was nothing special. All he done was short passes. No penetration at all.
Arsene is the only one who know the best. Its up to him to begin a ware house sale or keeping faith to his players
*
yeah,he was gutted with David Dein departure, and we lose ashley cole that season as well. But Arsene did an exceptional job after Dein departure. But i think we have to concentrate on one cup which is advisable.quadruple is a cyborg of a task for gunners players.and the fixtures is not much of a help with injuries piling up.but i think we did decent this season to earn us a trophy.so premier league is the only answer for our six year wait.Every game is massive.we just need rest at the moment aftr 2 tough games against the top teams in the world at their turf.so credits to gunners it was a difficult task but we are still in for premier league icon_rolleyes.gif notworthy.gif

anyway dedicated to all the gunners fan,the gun in the shirt, the Big Cannon!!!
