My knowledge in metal is not as wide as you all. Thats the closest that I could think of. Thanks for the head's up. I'll try to listen to the albums that you have suggested.  notworthy.gif

I didn't mean to sound mean. I must have had Simon Cowell channeling through me. tongue.gif

It's just that I've been listening to the new stuff from big name bands i.e. Megadeth, Dimmu Borgir, Machine Head, Susperia, Vital Remains, Naglfar, Mayhem etc and they ALL have left me with a bitter aftertaste. I grew up listening to those bands and to hear their current album with such crappy material makes me sad and disappointed.

So far I'm enjoying these bands and their latest albums:
Annihilator
Chimaria
Dark Tranquillity (Sounds like the last album only much better)
Dying Fetus
Kamelot
Negura Bunget (Trippy black metal!)

And obviously it would make sense for us to go down there when we're doing the rest of the Pacific Rim with Japan and Korea and Malaysia and Singapore and Indonesia. But we're definitely all excited and we more than anything want to get down there.

All I can say is, COME HERE LA!

When I was in Singapore about a week before the official release date, I saw it in HMV! I was pretty shocked but didn't buy it. I bought Porcupine Tree instead. biggrin.gif

Can't wait to get my hands on the new DT, though. From the samples I've heard it sounds pretty badass.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD has announced the following dates:

Aug. 07 - Tennis Indoor Arena - Jakarta
Aug. 09 - Fort Canning - Singapore

Not really my cup of tea and I'm not sure if they're even metal but this goes to show once again the state of the local scene in bringing in foreign bands.

Rob Zombie is rock with some industrial elements, but he is certainly not all out metal.

The new Immolation is all right but must they have gone with the crappy production? It takes away from the overall brutality.

Damn, you made me bust out my Close to a World Below cd. It's a death metal classic. nod.gif

duno where i should put this, but porcupine tree has been quite metal lately

anyone know where i can get their albums? maybe the latest one after they signed for Roadrunners?

I wouldn't say that the new PT is prog metal. It sure does have "metal" moments but for the best part PT is still under the progressive rock umbrealla.

Luckily for me, I managed to get my copy when I was in Singapore. I don't know why it hasn't seen the light of day here even though the latest Megadeth is readily available here and they're both under Roadrunner.

The rest of the albums can be found at all trusty music stores.

OH.MY.GOD.

Since it's a Saturday there's a high probability that I'll go. And once again Singapore gets all the good stuff, unlike us, where we're stuck with crap such as Gwen Stefani!

New Arch Enemy sounds like the last album. Which was awful.

Divine Heresy, hmm. They're definitely better than latter day Fear Factory but the vocals are friggin' horrible. Tim Yeung is one badbutt drummer!

Harsh vocals scare you? Then try these:

Iron Maiden
Machine Head (Early albums yes, later ones are craptastic)
Mercenary
Nevermore

and what the heck, King Diamond. tongue.gif
