hmm, anyone done the auto-lock feature for our car?
*
Yes, me. Locks when you hit the brake, unlocks when you switch off the engine. I think it was RM 300, my salesman did it for me. Oh, and I think the alarm system was beefed up too. Pressure sensor installed and the locks reinforced against picking (I dunno how).

The user manual says minimum RON 95.

I generally find no difference in fuel consumption between RON 95 and 97.

Hello Paul
Kami baharu sahaja membeli proton saga FL selepas menjual toyota vios E type tahun 2009.

QUOTE(l3iTi @ Mar 23 2011, 10:26 AM)
hei guys...anyone of u ever pump in more than 36 litre fuel??
Well the spec mentioned that our tank is 40 litre...

But last week, i drive my car till totally stop due to no petrol, also only able to pump in 35+ litre only...
*
The most I've pumped in so far is 32.xx litres, after driving for about 20-30 km with the warning light on.

But there are others reporting they can't fill the full 40 litres too.

Saya dapati memang benar bahawa minyak yang boleh digunakan oleh Kereta ini tidak mampu melebihi 36 Liter dan bukannya 40 Liter sebagaimana yang didakwa oleh PROTON dalan iklan. oh, anyway, how to do the full pump? hahaha, sorry, i have used to pump-RM50-whenever-it-reached-last-bar
*
Pay by credit card. Then let the pump run until the nozzle trips by itself. You may have to manually hold down the lever after that because after the first trip you can still add another litre or so. Squeeze the lever very gently and hold it until the petrol overflows very slightly (but it should drain back into the hole, so no wastage).

Wah they gave you 5W30 oil. What were you using previously? I'm thinking of asking them to give me 10W40 at my next service, probably next week.

Ouch man shakehead.gif Sorry to hear that. At least you're all right.

BTW my mum's car is also a Hyundai Elantra, facelifted version of the one in the accident. Drove that for four years before getting my BLM.

Guys, what is the waiting time for Saga FL now? My wife booked a Saga FL Executive Manual. Its been a month. Salesman says production is less than demand. Is it true?
*
Better call and chase him like the others said. But I thought manual versions should be faster than that (low demand, when walking on the road I tend to peer into cars, about 8/10 BLMs are auto). I guess I'm lucky I got mine in just six days, ordered it on Wednesday evening and by the next Tuesday it was registered and sitting in my porch.

Speaking of remote and alarm, does the car suppose to have sound when unlocking? Mine lights up but can't really hear the sound unlike other cars.
*
You can switch the sound on if you like. Read your user manual, press and hold the two buttons, let the lights blink four or five times.

Interesting stuff about the gear spring / bushing. Mine, at 10,500 km still feels like new. Hope it stays that way for at least a while.

Yah, 4L/100 km pwns even the hybrids laugh.gif

I just broke my personal record of 400+ km on one tank thumbup.gif Result is 7.9 L/100 km (12.7 km/L) on 100% Penang island traffic. Gonna try and hit maybe 7.5 L/100 km next tongue.gif

Er... dude,

Firstly you must enter the data accurately. Either enter your odometer reading, or the reading from the trip meter (remember to reset it).

(I personally prefer odometer readings, because before I drive off from the pump I automatically write the details (date, odometer reading, quantity, fuel brand and octane) in my logbook, but sometimes I forget to reset the trip meter)

Secondly, you must fill until the tank is absolutely full. Read this to find out why.

Let the nozzle trip by itself, then squeeze the handle gently until the fuel almost overflows.

If you don't do these two, the results you get will be erm, inaccurate.

And what do you mean you can't remember? shocking.gif

PS I suspect you are entering your odometer readings but the input is set to Trip Miles (or km). Go to your car in the Garage and click on Edit This Car to change it.

I can normally squeeze in another 1-2 litres after the nozzle trips automatically brows.gif

In terms of petrol consumption, there isn't much difference between my two frequent brands, Caltex and Petronas. I got 7.9 L / 100 km for my second last tank before this one (Petronas), after that tried Caltex and got 7.8 (my last tank). The difference can be accounted for by the fact that I had to make several short and inefficient trips (including driving up and down my six storey car park at work rclxub.gif) on the Petronas tank. There's some rough analysis on my Fuelly page below. My routes, traffic condition and driving habits are fairly consistent.

Currently on Primax 95 Xtra. Not feeling much difference, at the moment sweat.gif Gonna drive kaw kaw on this tank first, then on my next tank keep a light foot and see if it's any better than the 7.9 L / 100 km I achieved last time on the Pre-95 Xtra fuel icon_rolleyes.gif
