Hello everyone, sorry jumping all of sudden but I think I want to share my 2 cent too.

I believe, it is bullshit fresh grad can get RM 3k starting salary nowadays. The competition is getting hectic as my batch (2008, 4 years course, BEE) are joining the frenzy as well. Not mentioning graduates from other discipline, universities, IPTA & IPTS. Why the hell should they pay you 3k, 10k, 17k when there are so many is settling for 2.5k?

Face the truth, w/o experience and skill certificates, you are lucky just to get hired.

For the AS case, I believe it is not as different as my degree. Same shit different name, maybe different years of study. Who cares? Employee will receive hundreds resume, they can pick the best with lowest salary demand.

*Note to those are in process of picking course and universities: Malaysian universities are a joke. Im not degrading Malaysia bcoz Im from IPTA myself so I know. Just pick any course and make sure you got at least 3 pointer, below than that u r f up. Links and cables r ur 1st aim. Saying otherwise is like lying 2 urself. Enjoy ur uni life. Dun b a bookworm unless u r aiming for master degree.

*added note: Plz be friendly to "sniors" and "professionals", they may b ur way of getting a job

With that, I hope 4 the best of you all nad have a nice day biggrin.gif

you are totally bullshitting . getting 3k for nowadays fresh grad is just as easy as eating nuts. Recall 2 years back on my graduate time, getting 3.5k is not anything non-common. What to say now.

Never thought employer is stupid, they know way to differentiate between talent and joker.

If you cant make it, doesn't mean other people couldn't. Face the truth bro....

Lolz, I think you are right too. I think o&g company, MNC and oversea companies do offer as high as RM3k and more for fresh grad.

Maybe, I was just frustrated with not getting jobs after so many interview that I forgot those facts. Thanks 4 correcting.

But correct me if i'm wrong, a RM3k job will need more of your time and effort compare to others? Or it is just something big companies do because they can?

hi, i'm 26 yo now..what should be my wage? whats the average wage for a 26 yo?
Thanks in advance smile.gif

I think this depends on qualifications and experiences. A 24 years old degree holder is no more different than 22 years old degree holder.
Whereas, a 24 years old man is different than 22 years old degree holder.

who would say the demands and supply doesn't effect the salary..
*
It may affect and it may not affect. If u use supply and demand theory to depict payscale, then u might get this scenario:

In jobstreet, I apply for a Network engineer position at YTL comm. For 346 applicant, 250 demand salary higher than me, 31 same and 65 lower.

I put RM2.5K for my starting salary. So, according to supply and demand theory, I need to lower my demand so that I look more appealing to the employer that may have only 6~10 vacancies.

My bigger question: Are actuarial science job are specific only to actuarial science degree holder? If not, then you have to compete with engineers, DESPERATE engineers that are more versatile and flexible in natures. Im not saying AS degree is not good but engineers can do good shit too biggrin.gif
