Hmmm, I am actually wondering all these salary stated in LYN is correct or not. I hope those who put are not Keyboard warrior who only know how to BS behind using the keyboard. It look weird to me as based on previous post, there are some only 21 years old or only have 1 or 2 year experience but command a salary of 10k++ or near to 10k, and mind you, even oil and gas industry do not pay that much. Some are even worse, diploma level, 2 years experience, but salary is 8k above. Wow, if you guys are really doing that well, well done, you really have outdone average Malaysian by far. If you are just writing a fake number for the sake to impress, well I have nothing to say..guess you really are just keyboard warrior. I hope those who put the number here are sincere as some people use it for reference guide to their own salary.

Hi guys I would like know what salary should I request for as an accountant trainee?Full time.
No experience and graduate of cat(certified accounting technician)
I am also pursuing acca but would like to start work and finish acca at the same time.
Could a trainee be paid under 1000?
I was hoping at least in the range of 1000 to 1500?
Is it too much?
Opinions would be greatly appreciated Thanks.

U know, if ur going to work as an accountant trainee for full time, might as well u go find a job as an account assistant. Just those small small family firms should be enough, some can pay around 1.5k, some around 1.8k depending on ur result and qualification. But most of the time, they need diploma students, but maybe CAT also can.

Okay, guys. Help me out here.

Job Title : Graduate Trainee Program (Finance)
Job Description : Costing, account, bookkeeping, budgeting, basically everything in the finance field.
Years/month spent in company : 0
Company : MNC - Food industry, so huge commercial company, with regional offices and factories around the globe.
Industry : Finance
Tenure : Permanent (starting Aug 2011)
Bond: 3 years
Education: Degree - 2.99 CGPA
Employment Level : Fresh grad?
Experience before joining : 6 month internship in a tax firm, 2 months working in the same tax firm
Salary : RM2.4k
Benefit: Standard (medical, annual leave, insurance), training is all on the company and since Im joining the training program, there'll be lots of training and exposure to different areas of the finance field, annual trips, annual dinners. They expect me to be mobile as I will be shifted throughout asia pacific to their regional offices as to increase my experience and gain exposure to international working culture. And they said they'd pay for my ACCA.

Havent gotten an offer letter yet, but the guy who interviewed me and the boss said that they strongly want to offer me a job in the program. Just that gotta wait till my medical check up results to be out cuz they're in the food industry, so all their employee has to be healthy up to a certain level.

Should I say yes? Bear in mind that I am based in Selangor, and I have a job starting next month (2k for 3 months probation, then after that 2.3k) and the office is just 3 mins walk from my house, but the job offer from the MNC is in Johor, so I would incur additional costs as I'd need to rent a room and probably drive to work, instead of just walking.

And I probably wont get to see my friends and families much as I'd need to be mobile in the MNC. But its a good opportunity, just that currently Im undecided.

is this for whole Malaysia? or west Malaysia only?
*
West Malaysia only. Though I dont think East Malaysia should differ too much, probably the small companies would be a little different, but higher companies have a standard pay rate.

And RM 2.8k is not low. If you get a job offer that doesnt ask u to work 12 hours a day for 2.8k, consider urself lucky and accept it.

I have a friend who's a fresh grad and she works for a well known investment bank. 2.8k, but works at least 12 hours a day.

after reading through the last few pages, i can safely say
1) all those age below 30 earning below 10k - you are above average compared to what is being paid in market

2) new grads to the market : your pay is also quite ok.
*
i don't understand the first point

you guys are still not making any sense to me

if everybody below 30 that gets paid below 10k is above average, then almost everyone is above average

if im below 30 and earning only 1 bucks per month,im still ABOVE average?

Am I considered ok?
What about career prospect for AP and also in Shared Services Centre?
Please give your suggestion/idea.  thumbup.gif

You're getting normal market rate. But with night shift, you're above market rate for an AP specialist in a shared service.

Better plan your future carefully. Being in an MNC would be a great stepping stone. You can either be a normal employee in an MNC (as in continue being an AP specialist, and do your usual invoicing, GRN, etc, etc) and in 3 or 4 years, you'd earn around 4k, or you can be a REAL Finance Analyst with 3 years experience and ACCA, and you can easily move on to managerial level and earn 8k++.

Your choice, and your initiative. How do I know this? I'm working in an MNC too, just that I'm not in Shared Service, I'm in Central Finance, Commercial Control, and I know a bunch of people in AP, and they are stuck doing the same thing over and over again - data entry.

P.S - WHO (World Health Organisation) is currently recruiting for Finance Officer for their Global Shared Service office in Cyberjaya. I read the job scope, requirements and job description, and 90% of it is normal AP/Commercial/Financial Control jobs in MNC. Doing reconciliation between ledgers/systems, ensuring data integrity, handling tremendous amount of raw data, etc, etc. The pay is minimum 8k/month, tax EXEMPTED, 6 weeks of annual leave, with United Nation's pension scheme.

Why am I saying this? Because I read the whole job advertisement from top to bottom, their minimum requirements and their "desirable" requirements. It's all things that you can learn in an MNC's Shared Service and Central Finance department. You, if you can plan your future and career properly, would be able to make minimum 8k/month in 3 year's time from now.

Plan your career carefully. There's tons of money to be made in Finance.
