Yup, the basic salary is the same. Just the allowances will increase (RM300). Actually, my current company counter offer me the same salary as the new company is giving, and dats why the basic salary is the same. I just dont know is it ok for my career growth if i go to the singaporean company. They are doing something more to environment i think (enviromental and process) and at the same time, i dont think that my current company is growing any bigger, based on the market trend. Maybe i should stay for at my current company for a few years more, and see how it goes rite? If still not ok, then i just hop again...

Your last sentence is the best one, no doubt...
Correct, I agree with you...too much question to ask but none of your options fit the bill, unfortunately  laugh.gif but well think there...actually I'm an engineer working in semi-gov construction industry, semi gov pay is good and very standard ala gomen pay if we compare within the industry with the benefits etc but when comparing the basic in GLC OnG company with less experience its a lot more plus benefits...Is it too far to compare nowadays between these fields with the same profession? My career progress is quite substantial in terms of pay when changing jobs and it can be consider as a good career move when comparing to the market of the same field whereas I can be consider good with what I'm doing. Maybe construction industry is not on par with OnG especially...I'm trying to aim high before taking the huge leap forward and may need some time but no doubt your guys opinions are really encouraging thumbup.gif

Hi bro,

yes OnG pays really well, and I mean it as most of my family members work in OnG fields, and even my wife also. But my sister work in a construction industry, and she has a really good pay for a goverment servant. They even send her to take her master abroad. Got Business class ticket also, for her whole family worth more than 40K, Dangg..haha.. What I think is that each industry has its own potential. I am not in the OnG industry, yet my salary is far higher from my wife who work in the OnG industry, even she started to work earlier from me ( I graduated late due to repeat some papers during my Uni days, hahaha.. whistling.gif Not so bright after all). The important thing is your speciality bro. When youre good at something, people will surely find you, and appreciate your speciality.Did you know that Telco industry guy also have a high salary?. All industry will give a better pay as long as were keen to learn new things, and improve ourself bro.

Thanks..hehe...

Just my opinion from my experience.. biggrin.gif

At your age, whats important is experience not salary. If u want an easy job so early in life and expect to be paid well too, then im afraid 10 yrs down the line, u might find your self behind others. I started with only a RM1,500 salary working on a project site and i moved around in the first 5 yrs getting alot of experience. Didnt bother much bout salary then as i knew experience was what counted. After 5 yrs i went overseas for 2yrs and started earning a 5 figure salary (tax free). Ive never dropped below a 5 figure salary since then and now after 11 yrs experience, im doing quite well and earning a decent income.

So my advice is you need to have a career plan. Dont just jump from 1 company to another without a definite purpose. At your age, your only purpose should be to get experience. Always ask yourself where you wanna be in 10 years time because what happens in 10 yrs time is decided by the decisions you make now. The salary will come with experience so dont worry bout that so much now. Many of my friends choose the easy life when they graduated and now, all of them in Malaysia are earning less than me.

Choose established companies always and improve your communication & writing skills. This will take you a long way in addition to technical expertise.
