Hi all, I need advice regarding my current career and pay.

Job Title: Digital Media Programmer (basically web developer)
Job Description: create/maintain Facebook apps & Microsite
What I actually do: Web developer, Inventory Managing (gadgets loan to staff eg camera, v.cam, tablets, laptops etc), IT Technician (fixing/torubleshooting staffs' laptops etc)

Probation period salary: rm 2200
Salary after comfirmation: rm 2500
Current salary: rm 2800
(above salary is what I see on the cheque every month)
EPF: Yes
OT: Not counted
Working hours: 9.30am to 7pm (but 50% of the time I go back after 9pm. boss did buy us dinner sometimes)
Annual leave: unknown (will add this once I've got the info, mostly is 12-18 days)

My education level: Diploma in Computer Science
College graduated: TARC
Past working experience: None for permanent, 2-3 freelance jobs during college time (website and stuffs)

Currently there is only 1 person in the digital department (me).
This is my first real job after graduated from my Diploma course.
I have really learned a lot from working with this company. Now I find that this company has provided all the knowledge (programming skills) possible (in short I think I've done learning everything a programmer would've hmm.gif ).
It also gave me opportunity to work with cool companies like P&G and Samsung (digital side).

I need advice from you guys.
Should I continue working with this company?
Ask for pay raise? (did received once)
Continue working?

I don't know much since I've just started working.

How long have you been with this company? If it's less than 1 year, I think your pay is actually pretty good for a diploma holder. Diploma holders generally get paid less than degree holders.

Anyway, you can explore other opportunities and see what offers you can get. It doesn't mean you want to leave your current company, but it's always worthwhile to know how much you are really worth.

I started working with this company on 22 February 2012.

I do like to know how much do I worth considering my skills, knowledge, attitude etc.

Nobody can tell you how much you are worth. Your perceived value depends on how employers evaluate you and part of the evaluation comes from your interview performance and soft skills. That's why I said you should explore other opportunities and see what you can get from other companies. IMHO, given your education and experience, 2.8k is actually a generous offer. I don't know if there are other companies willing to pay better than this for a diploma holder who has less than one year of work experience.

Thanks a lot for the advice!
