Ya, I agreed with both of you. But how if the increment rate is only 2-3% of your basic salary but the bonus is quite attractive which will be higher than your increment rate? sweat.gif

Better Increment.. better bonus... blush.gif

Earns 300k per annum but not doing well?? Something wrong with the lifestyle.. Ask your fren to live and spend his money likes he's earning RM150k per annum.. blink.gif

the pay is plausible for his age and position.
those 23~24 yo claiming RM8~RM10k is suspicious.

My Graduate Trainee Engineer (24 Years) is able to get monthly gross pay around RM11k.. Even the contract for RM11k pay only last for 1 year (1 Project).. But it is still achievable.. blush.gif

It really depends on each individual's involvement. Those who are more active in research work will find it more stressful in juggling time between teaching, admin and research. For example, the research may face a stumbling block and there seems to be no solution and the funds going to expire. Flexi-hour is great in terms of more freedom but those active in research basically spend hours inside labs or office because office hours will be filled with admin and teaching duties. So it is a common misconception that academic is less stressful than industry. Then again, it all depends on each individual how involved he or she wants to be. Take out the research, pretty comfortable smile.gif

So you answered your own question.. smile.gif depends on your involvement..

Bro.. you should note down all whichever good advises that working adults have advised you.. Finish your study and later you will experience it..

and make reference to oversea income is higher due to currency exchange, yes its true.. however due cost of living, tax, your income become par as you work in KL. You will only can make money if you have strong saving attitude..
Example:
Oversea
Basic Salary: USD 3500 (wahhh... very high about RM 10,000)
After spend on tax, rent, transport, food, utilities, clothes, entertainment.. left USD 400 for saving..

Kuala Lumpur
Basic Salary: RM4500.00
After spend on tax, rent, transport, food, utilities, clothes, entertaiment.. Left RM 1,000 for saving.. If still stay with parent, can save a lot..

Are you currently attach to any company? If not working, better take the opportunity rather than jobless.
