Hi guys,

What would I be looking for a person like me making a jump with 2 years experience from local bank to singaporean bank namely OCBC.

I'm currently grossing RM3.1k. Is a 45-50% jump possible?
*
so do you expect to get a job about 3K SGD? should be quite possible...

QUOTE(kelvin_tan @ May 26 2011, 05:17 PM)
@Liuism
Degree yes or no ? I think you are severely underpaid. Fresh grads working in the IT sector command up to RM3.6k basic nowadays (of course, not everyone, but yes it is possible). You have a total of 5 years experience and earning less than them.
*
he might not have a degree in which case, its actually reasonable.

but for degree holder you can earn more at other job, provided you find one that needs your skills.

Do you mind to tell  your education level? If you have degree + 7yrs working experience. RM3k is very low. Some fresh with better luck can get this price
*
QUOTE(kellyC @ Jun 22 2011, 12:04 AM)
Indeed.
*
if you spent the last 7 years doing the same thing (no job scope change/value add), why should the company pay you so much?

share the company name better. then you apply for the job and ask for 8K.
then they'll sack the person and hire you instead. win.

I feels that I'm underpaid. Seems most other engineers with similar experience are earning more than this. What do you all think? Anybody with similar experience can share some data?
*
Yes, people your age should be earning 10-15K already. Do not settle for any less.

Added on April 4, 2012, 1:35 amDoes any oil and gas company hire IT fresh grads, and how(roughly) much would they pay for salary? im an IT student, still studying my 2nd yr in Degree of Computer Security in local univ. Just wondering since a friend of mine is currently working in MMHE as a safety officer(junior position) and telling me off about the high pay in that industry is offering. gulp* javascript:emoticon(':hmm:')

imagine OnG, in SAP role. That will be your IT Heaven.

You should just join. Definitely paid over 3.5K.
