Tried 105mm on D90 before, not ngam for me I prefer the 70200 over the 105 VR anytime.

You want portrait lens -> 85mm f/1.4G. You want macro lens -> 105 VR.

Not really must portrait lor, that's why i am thinking of the 105vr can do a job as portrait lens, else i have to be lugging 70-200

for me i stick to lowepro bags.
ur best option if u just want to carry d7000 + kit lens is exchange messenger, rm180+ or passport sling, rm230+.
if u want to put ur 70-200, u need something bigger and will already look like it has a camera inside...or wont look stylish.
