i5 2400 with noctua?  hmm.gif

err what's so weird about that hehe or maybe you are wandering why for the locked 2400 needs high performance cooler perhaps.
well I am boost my CPU up to 3.59ghz from the default 3.10ghz, and I fold my CPU. Here's my temperature as per my post in folding thread here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1651444/+140

QUOTE
Stock Intel cooler mad.gif
BIOS temp 63°C +-
Temp in windows idle 50°C +-
Temp in windows folds at -smp 3 68 - 70°C +-

Noctua cooler icon_idea.gif
BIOS temp 45°C +-
Temp in windows idle 43°C +-
Temp in windows folds at -smp 3 54°C +-

That is running on 900rpm, if run at 1200rpm must be more cooling I believe thumbup.gif

I did this monster review when it was prototype, performance was great but it has difficulties in matching casing, not every casing can fit this in.
Anyway, due to copyright, I cannot share the review out here, but I rated it 8.5/10 biggrin.gif

I did it when it was prototype and it was last year December biggrin.gif
So, since this is end product already, I guess it should perform better biggrin.gif

In the same boat.

DH14- As technoG said in his review, case clearance might be an issue. So do some measurement. Installation is not hard at all.

Anyway, somehow when using Y-Splitter that come with the box, one of the fan stop spinning. So I discard it and use separately.

if this 900gm noctua cooler put it vertically, the motherboard can support? Or I need to put my casing horizontally?
