I've started on cutting fat and hopefully gaining lean muscles a week ago. So far, I've lost about 3lbs or at most 2kgs after a week.
I'm 21, stands at 165cm and weighed about 95kgs a week ago.

Am I doing good? I'm on a low carb low fat high protein diet. I've also bee working out on alternate days with cardios in between. You can find my journal here: SD's Journal

If 2kgs a week is good progress for someone my size and height, I'll stick to the diet.
If not, I'm thinking of trying a low/no carb high fat high protein a.k.a keto diet, since I see many people supporting it in this forum, especially 4rings lol.

What kinda advice is this? TS didnt even ask if need to go gym or not -.-"

but anyway, TS, from what u mentioned, 2kgs a weeks is still ok. not too much too soon. and since its only the start, its no problem.

but some tips from reading ur journal a little bit,
fat free yoghurt usually have high sugar contents. yes they have good benefits as well however, for someone trying to lose weights, eating sugar for bedtime snack is not recommended. the chicken/ eggs u usually eat is a better choice.
its best u dont consume carbs 4hrs before sleeping (unless its a post workout meal).
altho you're on low carb diet, try to keep your carbs at the earlier parts of the day.
the chee cheong fun since not u buy, can forgive la, but still, try not to eat carbs at night smile.gif

also i notice you dont have supplementation in your journal. u taking any? its important to get enough vitamins and minerals when dieting as it will help your body recover faster to pack on muscle and lose fats.
U shd check out a multivitamin and also fish oils. both will aid in your fat loss. and if got extra, maybe a whey protein/protein blend.

as for keto diet, i never really tried so i cant comment too much on it.
i only tired it for about 1.5 weeks in the past. hard to continue as most malaysian food like to have high carbs instead -.-"
eating low carb was bad enough... 0 carb (keto) was worse. tongue.gif

2kg a week is good enugh, it's 2% of your weight.

Just continue wif whatever you r doin, try to improve bit by bit but not changin the whole thing.

Because losing weight consistently is good, but if you went too agreesive, your body may be stressed out and counter react.

Go on wif ur effort until it reached plateau, then figure out why and made some modifications. Otherwise, 2kg a week is gud enugh. that's an ideal weight lost.

N not forget to mention, losing too much weight as in "15 or 20 kgs a month" will made you has loose skin, because they not able to shrink back on short while.

For your question, yes, you has do a good job and good progress.

Good luck and happy workout.

p/s: I din take any supplements so I can't provide u any idea. Sorry for that. but i guess neek's idea is good though.

Fish oils are mostly the same. just find one thats cheaper. if u want, u can try to compare based on the EPA and DHA values there too. basically, the more the better.

i'm taking only fish oils and vitamin C in the morning. don't have multis laying around so didn't take any lol.
i just started with the Warrior Diet on sunday. weight jump back a little up to a little over 93kg. on monday. wasn't working out from last sunday to weds. couldn't find time in the afternoon or evening to. but when i weighed myself again on thursday, i was down to 92kg. i wonder if the diet really works or it's just some random fluctuation. i'll continue this diet for the rest of the week and see if i'm leaner or not.
