QUOTE(kyaz87 @ Apr 11 2011, 12:21 PM) hello, want to ask about the malaysian ps3 warranty thing... register your slim ps3 here : http://asia.playstation.com/my/enpreviously the launch phat one we can register to sony malaysia...but now since i got myself a new slim im abit confuse where to register the warranty... malaysian sony site said all playstation products have to register at playstation asia site...doesnt that site give us 90 day extended warranty only? so where is the 1year warranty? is it at playstation asia along with 90day extended warranty? after 7days not register i cant get the 1year? p/s : i ask this because i cant login to the site since those no life dik heads hacker attack sony...damn la! loading damn long then error I don't have problems going to this site. maybe your connection is bad. when you register at asia playstation, you automatically get 1 year + 90 days warranty. if you don't register after 7 days, most probably you won't get any warranty. If got any doubt, call Sony Customer Service at 1-800-81-4963. |

QUOTE(kyaz87 @ Apr 11 2011, 12:36 PM) thanks nwk for clearing up my mind... After checking the FAQ on Asia Playstation, if you don't register your ps3, you will still get one year warranty but you won't get the 90 day extension. You will have to keep your receipt as proof of purchase if you want to claim warranty if you don't register at Asia Playstation.i can go to site too but i cant login my acc to the site...at "my page" section |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Apr 11 2011, 04:47 PM) I see.As u mentioned, since most PS3 games are 720p,getting a 1080p LCD TV dont help much then.I suggest go for bigger screen size.Unlike pc gaming,720p to 1080p is a huge difference. I beg to differ. more & more games are going 1080p. Even PSN games are also going 1080p. But I agree that the bigger the screen size the better. Don't waste money on a 24" 1080p TV because you won't see any difference unless the TV size is at least 32". |

If anyone here uses their credit card to buy stuff from PS Store and you didn't delete your credit card info from PSN after your purchase, this could happen to you:
QUOTE The day after the "Hack" both my credit cards that I have on file were stolen and used to purchase drugs at pharmacies around the U.S. they were also used for extravagant purchases in South America. I am not 100% sure how this happened but a breech of sonys PSN CC databanks is the only thing I can think of. Never did I ever think this would happen to me. EVER! They have turned my financial situation upside down. Filing reports with the Federal Trade Commision, closing and re-instating important bank accounts. This is a real nightmare. I have not carried cash for years, now going to the store and paying with cash seems really weird, but at least I know my info is secure paying with cash. Hopefully no one else has had their CC info breeched due to this "outside intrusion" SOURCE |

QUOTE(insane.gamer @ Apr 27 2011, 03:52 AM) Valued PlayStation Network/Qriocity Customer:We have discovered that between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account information was compromised in connection with an illegal and unauthorized intrusion into our network. In response to this intrusion, we have: 1. Temporarily turned off PlayStation Network and Qriocity services; 2. Engaged an outside, recognized security firm to conduct a full and complete investigation into what happened; and 3. Quickly taken steps to enhance security and strengthen our network infrastructure by re-building our system to provide you with greater protection of your personal information. We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding and goodwill as we do whatever it takes to resolve these issues as quickly and efficiently as practicable. Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained. For your security, we encourage you to be especially aware of email, telephone, and postal mail scams that ask for personal or sensitive information. Sony will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number, social security number or other personally identifiable information. If you are asked for this information, you can be confident Sony is not the entity asking. When the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services are fully restored, we strongly recommend that you log on and change your password. Additionally, if you use your PlayStation Network or Qriocity user name or password for other unrelated services or accounts, we strongly recommend that you change them, as well. To protect against possible identity theft or other financial loss, we encourage you to remain vigilant, to review your account statements and to monitor your credit reports. We thank you for your patience as we complete our investigation of this incident, and we regret any inconvenience. Our teams are working around the clock on this, and services will be restored as soon as possible. Sony Computer Entertainment takes information protection very seriously and will continue to work to ensure that additional measures are taken to protect personally identifiable information. Providing quality and secure entertainment services to our customers is our utmost priority. Please contact us at 2341 2356 (HONG KONG) OR 021 2994 8800 (INDONESIA) OR 1 800 81 4963 (MALAYSIA) OR 800 8523 663 (SINGAPORE) OR 0809 079 888 (TAIWAN) OR 0 2715 6100 (THAILAND). should you have any additional questions. SOURCED FROM PLAYSTATION ASIA. Added on April 27, 2011, 10:45 amIf you have deleted your cc info from PSN, you have nothing to worry about. Don't believe some xbot troll in another thread saying that your cc info is still in the server after deletion. What does he know? The troll doesn't work for Sony. QUOTE Please note that adding your credit card information to your PlayStation Network account, automatically saves it for future use and will not be removed unless you manually remove it yourself. Additionally, modifying your billing information on one system will affect your account no matter where you access it. SOURCED FROM PLAYSTATION KNOWLEDGE CENTER. QUOTE(alpha33 @ May 4 2011, 09:20 AM) Try using the normal cable which came with the ps3. Not sure what it is called, but it has the yellow connector 1... All purchases made from PSN are redownloadable as long as it is associated with the account that the purchase was made from.see if it works. Mine was just repaired back. HDMI port gone. Overheat?Previously, when i play NFS, my ps3 is in the cabinet. It gave me those problems. Then whenever i play, i pull out the ps3 for better ventilation, and no more such problem. ------- Btw guys, my ps3 just sent back from sony center for a faulty HDMI port. But, why did they need to format my hdd???all saves are lost. My main concern is, what happened to purchased pack?I bought 2 packs from NFS:Hot pursuit. Now its gone. PSN is not accesible...Is it redownloadable?Or need to re-purchase?? |
