Question, so will the focusing speed of the 70200G with the 70300G be the same if both aperatures are the same at f5.6???  hmm.gif
*
during AF, the aperture is wide open so, even u set to F32/ the aperture closes down only when the camera about to release the shutter.

the 70200G will still be at F2.8 wide open during AF
and the 70300G will be at variable aperture base on zoom length. during AF.

yuhi, what u asked is somehow confusing.

hunt mean finding. before hunt, u have to make sure u point at something that is focus-able, something contrast-y. in AF-S and AF-A, once it lock (teet teet) it will not hunt again. the 70200G has DMF where u can turn the focus ring instantly after AF to fine tune ur focus. but not all lens has DMF, so be careful

the AF-C will continue to try to re-lock and re-lock and re-lock (without teet teet).

the aperture will not close down until u full press the shutter button.

and the DOF preview button (if u set the lens custom button to DOF preview) it will close down the aperture when u press it (u notice ur OVF gets darker too) but AF mechanism is locked out, so the camera dont really focus when the aperture close down. but on certain lens with DMF, u can fine tune focus with it. smile.gif

minolta/sony alpha AF (and other brand is the same) will not AF with lens that is darker then F6.3 (lens with manual aperture) like samyang FE or 85mm. in other words, u wont get AF confirmation for lens darker then F6.3
except for a very very special case, the minolta/sony 500mm F8 mirror reflect which still works with AF even its a F8.

1:1. a real macro lens. unlike sigma, sendiri perasan name most their lens macro although its not 1:1 tongue.gif (cjlai going to kill me)

Added on March 5, 2011, 12:24 am2470! (william got it already so he goes to choice 2)

my reasoning is simple. zoom, wide to short tele. u can shoot wide without the hassle to change lens.

evil, hunt when u shoot macro or normal shooting?

macro is actually like that when its near the focus zone, u press the hold button, then use ur head/body move forward backward to finetune focus.

2-5 min check, 15 min explain, 1 min to calibrate.

Added on March 5, 2011, 1:29 ambut in between, u might need 30 min to think to calibrate or not, after explain, u get the whole idea why the current calibration is like that. what i do is not at the normal calibration, its something like hyper focusing term where u put the zone more front, causing back easier to bokeh too. so its not suitable for group photo, as group photo always focus the front most people,... my calibration will cause ppl behind to be softer.

180mm F3.5 Macro for food shooting means u have to stand outside teh restaurant, not inside. tongue.gif hahahah

albnok: last time i tested FF with 16mm fisheye, on tripod, then with A300 with samyang, the FF arent as wide (obviously) but i dunno where i put the pic i took, cant find @.@

(that time i forgot to set the A850 to shoot in crop mode to use the samyang, totally forgot, that way will have same plane from the sensor to compare.

actually, i doubt the 180 degree claim. does it mean its 180 degree from the 16mm, not from the camera. so the 8mm still wider then the 16mm in FF wor. (crop to FF, 8mm = 12mm in FF) so its 180 at the 12mm. maybe we can have a "myth buster" during the TT to confirm biggrin.gif i also curiouss hahahaha

will update the list tonight, LYN Nex and Alpha thread and Alphanatics. just back from bintulu workshop.

now thinking what lens to bring...
1870? great old lens, 1855? consistent af lens (i do notice it has less fine tuning zeezaakzeezakk like bodymotordriven), 1750?, or 1680? or 16105?

oh, since i have these common KITLENS where ppl always ask which to buy, i should do a comparison of them! (but after convention la. busy lately tongue.gif)

my opinion, demb diffuser, same like other stofen (cap) or garyfong toilet bowl, all is just marketing gimmick and waste of time(ur real flash learning become off track) and money. i only find them useful when i do not have a ceiling to bounce. F42 can bounce even a 3 story ceiling (grand church), and shoot as far as 10 meter away. but with all those ojibala modifier on ur flash, ur effective distance become less then 8 meter at fullpower. useless.

camera contact and lens electronic contact are at the edge, small twist/movement of the lens cause it to lose contact, causing the F-- to come out.

can show me a pic of that DIY diffuser of urs?..i gonna do wedding soon too..just wanna make sure i am fully know how to use the flashgun before doing it, else end up screw up things..

and hor, iER..i found that went i switch off the flash, and try to meter the lighting, let say metering say 1/10 shutter..when i turned on the flash, the speed reading will up few stops..why ah?..

and i tried this too:

-turn off flash, meter the ambient light on A mode F2.8
-set back same aperture and shutter on M mode..
-turn on F42 at AUTO power
-outcome --->nicely lit but with warmer tones

-turn off flash, meter the ambient light on A mode F2.8
-outcome --->nicely lit

this way correct or not one?..lol.. shocking.gif
*
i mentioned this few page back (or was it last version thread) that aperture bigger then F4, the ambient light can easily overwrite the flash white.

gel ur flash and use appropriate WB, sure ur pic come out nice.

sorry ah, i lack of sleep, so i read thing is blurry, so i try answer with proper writing also.

to gain BG light, boost iso is the best way. but if its still dark at iso1600, then ur background is really DARK even for 3200, all u end up seeing is noise.

sometime by adjusting the right angle of the bounce can help brighten up properly the whole pic smile.gif

the gel is cheap only. but i lately busy not time make extra cards, once i free i make some bring KL sell, 1pcs rm5 RM2 + tutor tongue.gif (need break even my flight expenses tongue.gif)

when u have a FLASH running, the AWB will turn to FlashWB, which is at 5500k, so u have to go inside and change it to custom WB and set to the proper (to your liking) temperature. u might like it to have more ambient feel then pure white.

doh.gif doh.gif waitttt,... do u guys know how people really use DSLR to shoot marco?

i. use MF (some people can use AF because they have steady hand)
ii. set to a focus distance or a macro size u wan eg. 1:1 or 1:2 etc
iii. knowing after u set the focus, it should have a focal/focus plane (area that is in focus...)
iv. u actually uses your body to move front and back to find the subject until in focus.
v. snap.

hahahahahahahahaha. not just us, a lot pro does the same.
