b4 install i disable lagfix.

then go to recovery, install from zip, it runs half way...error messege comes out.

That cut the rope is China clone, not original from the developer. It looks exactly the same

Sometimes you can, and sometimes not. As I first read about their review before buying my SGS, they didn't mention at all about lagginess. Well, maybe the lag that we experienced does not looks like a lag to them (hmm... are they slow poke or what......lol)

Anyway, the current gingerbread ROM is just a beta version, right?
Is it custom or original ROM from Samsung?
I heard that there is no lagfix or kernel for gingerbread as yet, is it true? Or we don't actually need one anymore?

IMO, somtimes I feel that beta version could be smooth than the final release. May be they change some coding or what in their final release which may or may not lead to lagginess or bugs. Not sure if you all guys agree with me or have encounter this before?

Last but not least, if my PapagoX5 can't detect my GPS location at all (may be after 5 -10 mins). Do you think I can send in to Samsung service centre to claim that the GPS is faulty? Has anyone tried doing that before?

I like insanity rom but nitr8's approach is minimalism. So that will not appeal to everyone. IMO the leaked gingerbread is not worth the hassle. I'm sure you guys will go back to froyo.

In other news, I have successfully unrooted using a CWM zip file and re-rooted from recovery mode (using speedmod kernel to root). This will completely unroot your phone.

This is useful if z4root or superoneclick were unable to unroot your phone. I'll upload the CWM in a bit.

haih haih!!! gingerbread leaks got memory problem i think, i check with set cpu, if i set on conservative it will go 400 800 1000 and stay at 1000 for a bit, then back down to 400,

on normal froyo it will go 100mhz if got nothing running, what the heck is running invisibly in gingerlah!! all my game went lagging

before flash to darky i dont backup my imei,  how to know if my imei mess up or not?  i can see efs folder using astro file manager,  but the directory is empty..

so far i have backup and restore using it quite a few time..
and act titanium backup can restore quite a lot of thing also..

Did u try tis ? I downloaded the .apk file, from the forum, it said paste the file to system/app and replace~
Im using Astro file manager to copy the file but i cant paste it inside the system/app~

you need to enable r/w to paste into system/app folder. use sgs tools.

I'm on Darky's 9.3, any of you guys know how to change the boot animation? 

1. Sorry guys, too many jargon. Just need to know whether I can go into Mobile Setting and turn off any live update or Data Transfer as I don't intend to get any data plan. Please don't ask me why 
Can u pls show me the steps or screen shots to do this?

2. How do I then update SGS to 2.3 when available? Sync thru internet via cable?
