Hello sifus, just a quick question.
Are the adidas originals raw selvedge denims worth it?
Saw some at KLCC, was impressed but wondering anyone here can give their opinions.
thanks and cheers!

QUOTE(Mihawk7 @ Nov 21 2011, 01:48 PM) Saw them last months too. never thought adidas produces jeans as well. but based on the quality, and price, levis is more worth in my opinion. The only levi's i saw for selvedge but not raw denims were about RM999. Only saw them at The Gardens Levi's store. The adidas were raw selvedge denims were about RM603 before 10% discount. Since I'm interested to get my first raw and selvedge denims, should I just save up more to get a better brand of jeans? Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(Mihawk7 @ Nov 21 2011, 03:51 PM) Wow, with that price range, you could already get the premium selvedge japanese brand denim bro. Japanese make the best denim I thank (or curse ) this thread and Kinokuniya's japanese section for poisoning me into raw and selvedge denims. and yes, them japanese denims have been my top priority. QUOTE(71ers @ Nov 21 2011, 03:56 PM) read a few pages up ... i would not recommend that you go for adidas as your first raw and selvedge jeans. they are a sports manufacturer anyway. I've been looking high and low to get momotaro here. can you let me know where to get them in Malaysia or Singapore?for almost the same price , you can get the Japan Blue X Momotaro or Naked & Famous Need to lurk more here in Lyn if any of guys are selling some. QUOTE(kevin190791 @ Nov 21 2011, 04:02 PM) go for the selvage nudies for some fancy looking jeans nudies and APC are among the best i reckon for denims not from Japan.or apc if you love the simple look, but high quality, if got budget go for iron heart Momotaro jeans is still my top of the list besides sugar cane. what's the range for those premium denim? between RM500 - RM1k? any below RM500 you guys recommend? |

QUOTE(kevin190791 @ Nov 21 2011, 11:32 PM) there is one forumer that can help you finding a jeans, pretty good price too, chazychaz Hi, thanks for the elaborate reply. or you can also contact the southeast asia representative of the momotaro jeans, Taavi Kuisma that guy is also the founder of northerndenim and nordic denim house, a very friendly guy that lives in Malaysia pm me if you want his email below 500 you might wanna take a look also at one of the indonesian finest jeans brand, popular in canada, US its petersaysdenim their finest line of jeans cost around RM500-RM700 using finest japan denim their normal range cost around RM200-RM300 only, they have this single line batch jeans that has a unique rasta selvage, really drooling Indonesia is being really serious about jeans, some brand are using high quality japanese, indian to zimbabwean cotton for production thats one reason self edge and iron heart collaborate a special edition jeans with an indonesian retailer to produce one limited edition jeans hi btw regarding the authentic vs fake nudies i own before, ive got an email from the jeans designer herself, Maria Erixsson, she states that it is a very old batch production of the jeans, very different from todays batch, cheers guys I'll contact chazychaz in details after this. I've just found out about Notherndenim from his blog yesterday. very informative. As for petersaysdenim, i believe he has good contacts with local hardcore bands playing here in Malaysia. will check it out soon. But man, those Momotaro going to battle stripes jeans is really something. I'm eyeing that as my first raw denim selvedge. thanks again to all for your feedbacks! Cheers! QUOTE(g3n0c|d3 @ Nov 27 2011, 11:20 PM) Just went for jalan2 at pavillion on the evening. What interest me is zara already hv selvedge denim (selling for rm199.90) and so does quiksilver (selling for rm499.90) haha, i was around pavilion today checking out jeans.Didnt notice the ones you've mentioned, but i managed to checked out at Tangs for some Evisu jeans under Bread & Butter. Average rm1.4k for a pair of evisu, no. 3 and no. 4 The only thing that caught my eye were those evisu heritage. It's the Lee jeans kinda tribute. I Like the simplicity of it. I wonder where is it made? Anyone care to share? |

QUOTE(chazychaz @ Dec 9 2011, 09:36 PM) Guys..is it possible to wear heavy denim in malaysia?i am planning to buy weird guy elephant 2 22oz and weird guys 26oz.. Haha, i actually was contemplating in getting those heavier denims, but im afraid our wheather is unforgiving. QUOTE(elainor @ Dec 10 2011, 12:43 AM) the only places i know in pavi to get decent selvedge jeans would be in tangs at the ground floor which is the bread & butter consignment. Evisus and True Religion jeans (but True Religion dont have any salvedge jeans if im not mistaken). The other would be Adidas Originals. But my advice, lurk around here in LYN especially the stuff for lads section to get some good deals. Glad these guys here to give good advice especially noobs like me. QUOTE(Grimm @ Dec 10 2011, 10:40 AM) Ugh.. as thread starter and for one true to raw unwashed selvedge jeans - I personally do not encourage forummers to even look at adidas or zara or topman or dkny or CK or other wannabe selvedge jeans. They are brands riding on the hype and the quality of their mass-produced jeans are just not comparable. It's hard to find a decent shop that carries the good brands that produce quality denims. Seriously without you guys i wouldn't know where to start. QUOTE(chazychaz @ Dec 10 2011, 04:45 PM) If anyone courious about samurai, momotaro, LVC and evisu sizing..head towards boothill jeans in giant sek13 shah alam..they stock quite a number of denim there..including 24oz samurai..price would be expensive around 1.5k for japan evisu and 3k for 24oz samurai Is this the same shop that sells Levi's beside that bakery shop, opposite the food court?Gotta check it out. |

Oh yes. I forgot about the Levi's store over there. Yeah, the do bring selvedge jeans now, but not sure if it's raw. |

Been lurking there as well to see how the fades will look for my jeans in the future.i started on december 8. u got a headstart. well some material does give a better fade, but mostly is what you do to ur denim. a guy with his SJDO, 1 year 6 months, never washed. note that both are Slim Jim Dry Organic, just like yours. u see, if u give a great action to ur jeans, it will turn pretty. try browsing http://mynudies.com/gallery/index.php , they got many pics of fades to have ur jaw dropped. to seniors out there, be patience with us its not imperial, pbj or momotaro but its a start. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « When can we see your jeans?
