I have been based in both WA and Sydney, I'll tell you that if you're going for cost-efficiency, WA is waaaaaaayyyyy cheaper than Sydney. UTAS only if you're doing law, but it's quiet there. Fewer asians or not, doesn't matter. Your application for PRship is dependant on your course and what not, nothing to do with population. I've calculated, during my time in UNSW, my expenses were 1.5 times of that in WA, and i was staying at some broken down shitty suburb area and I stayed in a closet (literally. my room was converted from a closet). In WA, i have a decent room. Food and groceries also much much cheaper. The only thing UNSW has over UWA is probably UNSW's night life is waaay better. Education recognition wise, both are about the same. Doesn't really matter where you get your degree from these days anyway.

QUOTE(Visionary @ Feb 24 2011, 10:26 PM) Tasmania is famous for nothing, well maybe for their I don't know ... marine sciences? You should totally go for UWA rather than UNSW,Perth is cheaper plus I guess both the Uni's are on par with each other Tasmania famous from law. Our own hannah yeoh graduated from there.

QUOTE(Balaclava @ Feb 24 2011, 10:37 PM) fun fact: aussie grad lawyers often get despised by uk grad lawyers. sos from few loyars i personally knew and some based on personal experience. Can't disagree with that. Law programmes wise, UK is still superior to that of Aussie. In fact, no one really goes to Aussie to study law. You're much better off doing an external programme back home or even local U (if you can get in la).
