for example this 2005 getz, the rectangular silver thingy behind the engine and infront of the windscreen is the intake manifold, you can see theres a big plastic hose connecting to the black box where the air filter is. All Efi cars got a throttle body instead of a carb, which can be seen where the intake manifold connects to the pipe there (also silver color, got slightly square shape). Nowadays, everyone has moved to the EFI route. Even Proton and Perodua now uses EFI. However, some American muscle cars still uses carb - easier to tune for many old timers.
