hi..newbie here... blush.gif  may i know how much would birth control pills cost? are they available in pharmacies like guardian? i read an article earlier saying that u need a doctor's prescription to get them...how true is that? after morning pills just dun seem to be an option coz i think it'll make my cycle haywire.... anyway...really appreciate all the advice i could get...thanks! thumbup.gif

it cost around 25++ less than rm30 (no idea current price)

it's a 1 month packet consist 21 pills, which u have to take at the beginning when u start having ur 1st day period and continue on and on if u do not plan to give birth.

u can purchase this over the counter at pharmacy, guardian.

By taking this pills, you will experience less period flow and less menstrual cramps and period becomes more stable, better complexion.

* Before you take this pills, consult your doctor, as different people have different symptom when taking pregnancy pills. Some period won't stop for the whole month, and you have to switch to another pill. Some ppl cannot take these pills, if they have veins on their legs and so on. Therefore, do consult ur doctor first.

Meliane, pill that is quite new not the old old ones, less side effect compare to the older pills.

Side Effect:
If you wan to give birth, u will have to wait for some time maybe short/ maybe too long, to have a baby. depends on ur body. or u might not have at all.

depends on individual, some gain lotsa weight, some no. but majority gain weight after taking this pills.

Advantage
Prevent cervix cancer by taking this pills

Better options:
Ask the male to put on condom is better than female having to eat this pill everyday!.. and gain weight +not good for her body in the long run.

Other options:
If you think it's troubesome to eat this pills everyday at the same time, you can opt for injection that can last for 6 months. But injection bad for ur bones, break easily in the long run.

It's ur own body and ur own choice.

If you really wan to take this pills, yes u can but dun take for too long perhaps years, u won't be able to give birth in the long run.

i just started using meliane last month but then i got my period a week early.
i know blood spots are common in between menstruation periods but its not just blood spots, its a full flow period, and the flow is heavy. and it lasts more than a week. it got me worried because i was supposed to finish all the 21 pills before having my next period, right?

so should i continue using it or change to another brand?

i've used mercilon before. no problem with it. after that i stopped taking pills for over 2 years. and just started taking them again last month. reason i changed to meliane is i wanted to try it. bad choice, eh? tongue.gif

Hi guys.
My girl took the postinor2 at 11:45 today, but then she was feeling a bit sick maybe because of the things that she ate yesterday night(Minor food poisoning). The pharmacist that we consulted said that if she were to eat charcoal pills she should eat it 2 hours later because scared the charcoal pill would absorb the contents of the postinor2. Its 7:30 now and she woke up from a nap saying she is experiencing headache and abit dizzy, and nausea.
I'm wondering if she could take a panadol? and
She said she heard that u just have to take 1 of the 2 of the postinor2(which comes in a strip with 2 tablets when we bought them), despite stated in the leaflet that take one and after 12 hours take the other?

I would also like to add that pulling out before ejaculation isn't an effective form of contraception. If you really love her, then the least you could do is put on a condom.

If you really love her.. the least you could do is put off sex until after marriage. tongue.gif

Any Watson's or Guardian stocks it, actually.

I've never had problems getting it (gurl) but I hate taking it. It throws my whole system off balance. I don't puke or anything, but I can definitely feel it.

On some months I take Yasmin, which is also contraceptive (21 days) and more expensive than Diane or Mercilon but it has added potassium that helps with bloating, which I'm prone to. I get mine from Caring pharmacy in Bangsar Village, they usually give discounts for monthly meds wub.gif

Actually, we're pretty lucky in Malaysia. I went to Australia to visit my bf 2 years ago, and we needed to go to the pharmacy for Postinor. No problem getting it, but it cost 30 AUD! shakehead.gif Money better spent on good chocolate...
