That's why it's important to get a doctor's advice before buying one over-the-counter. I talked to my OB/GYN about birth control (even though I'm quite well-read in the issue, just wanted to hear her opinion) and she stressed on the menstrual changes and weight gain part many many times

Anyway since we're in the topic of ECP, how much do they cost now at commercial pharmacies?

for birth control pill like Mercilon now pricing go up le. from rm23+ to rm24+. But some other places sell rm22 and some rm20. Before this I bought Diane was rm30.

I took ECP before and it cost me rm3 at local pharmacies. But the effects is terrible. First pill makes me wanna vomit and dizzy. Second pill after 12 hours make me sleep for one whole day. Headache and nausea. Swear I won't touch it again!

1. That day we had sex is the 3rd/4th day after her menstrual cycle
2. I din really shoot, i pulled out in last minute
3. She eat the first one , then we had sex, then the second one she ate is like 8minutes late (e.g 8.30 pm first pill, then 8.38 am second)

LOL for those people who din even read my previous comments and started to lambast me with those posts, i got wear condoms every time we have sex, and for once a time we plan to have some alternative, and tried not to use condoms, but ECP instead. So hereby i clarify myself:

1) I do not abuse any pills or ECP. Condoms is still my first choice.
2) Yes i do know ECP has its side effects. This time is we both agreed to try it, and she and I know the side effect as well.

Yep, prevention is definitely the key. Condoms are not really my favourite, but this won't be my excuse to skip it. It is very effective against unwanted pregnancy and STD.

Unless my gf got IUD on, i dun think i would stop using condoms. Contraceptive pills sometimes creates too much burden for females.

Check out Implanon. We had a case of pregnancy on IUD in the forums here a couple months back

Hmm, never heard of it, i just heard Mirena. My female friend, who is a mum right now, has been on Mirena for 2 years, and did not get pregnant despite frequent sex she had with her husband. Got weight gain? Is it due to the hormone released by the IUD?

well im glad to hear that you have the right attitude toward all these. Though there are not many proven side effects of these ECP, but then its better safe then sorry.
Like wat Syd said, OCP will be a good alternative for you if you plan to have an active sex lifestyle. Aside from the weight gain, which can be burned out with the number of cardiovascular exercise you will be doing.... , you could try that...
or if you want, you can follow wat i do, providing your gf's cycle is constant. Use the calendar method. monitor her cycle for 2 months to be sure the regularity. during this time, wear the dom dom and no pills. then after that you may plot her period cycles and be sure to select the option "Avoid Pregnancy".

if the guy dont want to wear it, then just tell them NO. you have all the rights to say no to the guy if he dont want to look out for your well being as well. having sex or making out is not alwiz about fun only...irrelevant if the person is your partner or just a one nite stand for that matter. Heard from a GYN that Implanon have some effects too.
It causes body hormones changes that will sometimes stop or flood yourself with the menstrual.
