it doesn't happen to all SGA since i didnt need to hardreset mine even some others in xda forum also didnt encounter this situation but it does happen to some... i used soc 1.7 too and make sure u follow every step so it wont crashed and the mini sdcard must not be inside ur phone when rooting remember that... app2sd really helps but remember not all apps comes with this option so need to choose rite by reading the info and comments for the apps...
and do make sure u restart ur phone rite after it is rooted so that superuser will take effect..

hmm, when you install apps on galaxy ace, the apps is installed on the 2gb card or the 156mb?
*
depends on the apps if it has the apps2sd support then it can be install on the sdcard...

I am buying this phone this weekend.
I read this thread that I can root using SOC 1.7.
As this will be my first android to compliment the iphone was wondering how easy is this root procedure and is it safe?
*
play it safe... but remember root at ur own risk...

do it while ur phone is still fresh out of the box with default setting.. take out the sdcard... and make sure usb debugging is turn on
download soc 1.7 and and follow every step that is given... if everything went well reboot/restart ur phone after that... u'll see the superuser icon in apps drawer...

can anyone share with me...
what is root??
on how 2 root the ACE??
because maybe im getting my ACE 2morro...n by reviewing bout the fon here...most of u keep saying about rooting the fon...so i jz want 2 get a clear view on what is rooting about??

sorry 4 this silly q...if i really get my hand on the fon 2morro this will b my 1st android...
*
rooting ur phone is at ur own risk so make sure u read a lot about rooting in the net first and understand it otherwise u'll regret it...
rooting gives u the admin control of ur phone so u could do anything that unrooted phone cannot... example is the superuser access which will granted access to install root apps like app2sd, move2sd enabler, titanium backup and many more...

read the rest here...

Any reason need to root which it still fresh? If root warranty claim how if problem happen.
*
nothing big actually only that if anything happens u could just do the hard reset without losing any files or data like phonebook or sms's or anything that u put in manually...
if u root using soc 1.7 there is a button for unroot there so click that button first before sending for warranty...

but just now there is one guy from samsung dealer told me that no matter what, after u root your phone, you cannot claim warranty, because there is some sort of things/or something installed into your registry, thats why the technician over there at the samsung warranty department could dignose your phone will reject for warranty claim. is that so?
*
i'm not surprised if a dealer answers ur question like that ... and what are thinking asking bout rooting ur phone the people who will deny ur warranty for doing it doh.gif
and in every forum i read bout root there is this phrase among it " ROOT AT UR OWN RISK " so u are warned before u do it...

but if u ask around in here i think the majority android user root's their android bcoz it helps user to do more with their android especially in case of freeing the internal memory by sending the installed apps to the external memory or using custom rom to get an improved battery life...

yeah thats right, but do u think it worth your risk for rooting it? i mean should anything happen?
but anyway, will be extra cautious when i root mine, still studying it for the time being. but at the moment, i couldnt get my ACE !!!  cry.gif
most places also no stock, if not they charge quite expensive also.

just now that samsung fella also told me, the ori set by SME is only 999 for phone without 2GB memory card, is this for real? anywhere i asked today also come with at least 2gb memory card!

one last thing is that, they claim that they are the biggest dealer in msia =.=
lastly, samsung dealer in pyramid says they are the special dealer and hence SME is giving them a special treatment, phones bought there are with 18 months warranty, i dont know who is right or who is wrong here... someone enlighten me please? thanks
*
its worth it if u know exactly what ur doing ...
i dont know if what they claim is true or not but samsung kiosk sunway pyramid is listed in samsung webpage...

Without root we also can install app2sd. What diff if root and no root.
*
yes u can but not all apps will be auto install into ur sdcard becoz some of the apps are still using old sdk i read about it in xda forum... and so u need to enable them first and to that u need a superuser and that means u need to root ur android... this is a big advantage for ACE user since the internal memory is so small more than 25-30 apps with average 2mb size file will left ur memory with no room anymore... and with move2sd enabled u could free up ur iinternal memory... but need to remind u again " DO THIS AT UR OWN RISK " and imo u need a bigger capacity of sdcard 8-16gb wih class 4 at least class 6-10 is better since u put alot of apps inside the sdcard it needs better read/write speed..

this are the links where u could read and understand more about the move2sd enabler apps which is a perfect combination with the app2sd apps...

If SGA only have 275MB ram, can we change it to 500MB or 1GB ram ourself like PC or lappy?

I think SGS ram is compatible..
*
well posible but seems imposible too .... dont u need to see the phone full build schematic design first...

nope not all can be move to sdcard unless u use move2sd enabler and gave the permission to do so... but it wont move any apps that needs to run on android services or need to use any sync service... and also apps that have widget

Hello, has anyone use Camera 360? Is it working fine on the ace? I just downloaded it from the market (version 1.7.1) and when taking a picture, the phone vibrates and a black screen appears, no picture taken! Is it only me or is the app incompatible with the ace? Anybody pls~ sad.gif
*
just uninstalled it... i tried it a few times already but same thing as u are vibrate then nothing only black picture is saved... so yes i think the app is incompatible with the ace...
now i'm using FX camera and its working
